These are the two Britons who are missing and feared dead in Sweden, after the car they hired was found burnt out with two bodies inside.

They are Juan Cifuentes and Farooq Abdulrazak, travel agents based in London, whose families have reported them missing.

The bodies were recovered after firefighters were called to the scene of a fire on a dirt road at the Fosie industrial estate in the coastal city of Malmö on Sunday.

Swedish police say the Toyota RAV4 torched on an industrial estate in the gang-ridden city of Malmo was the same car rented by Juan, 33, and Farooq, 37, and that they have not been seen since they drove away in it.

Authorities are in the process of formally identifying both bodies, but the men’s families fear the worst.

A relative of Juan Cifuentes confirmed this morning: ‘The car that was found is the one that Juan and Farooq rented.

‘The Swedish police have contacted us and are providing us with updated information on the situation.

They believe the two men in the car are possibly Juan and Farooq, but the bodies have not yet been identified.

‘I have read reports that the two men found in the car had been shot.

“We are not aware of this at this time. The police have not told us.

‘The only thing we know at the moment is that Juan and Farooq travelled to Denmark and then to Sweden on a business trip.

“They were due to return on Sunday before the Euro final, but they did not return home and no one has seen them for a few days.”

The two men are believed to have flown to Denmark on Sunday and rented a car at Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport before driving across the Oresund Bridge into Sweden, where their burnt-out car was found in the city of Malmo.

Earlier, Rickard Lundqvist, a press spokesman for the Southern Police Region, confirmed that an investigation was underway but said there were no suspects at this time.

Police only identified the victims as not Danish “as the car was registered in Denmark.”

Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet later reported that the victims were British.

And Swedish police have confirmed they are working with foreign police on the case.

Aftonbladet reported today that two British businessmen who are feared to have been murdered had flown from London’s Heathrow Airport to Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport.

In Kastrup, one of the two Britons was photographed renting a car, which was later found burned.

The Foreign Office said earlier it was supporting the families of two British men reported missing in Sweden after their bodies were found in a burnt-out Toyota on an industrial estate in Malmö on Sunday.

The driver and passenger, believed to be British nationals, were found in the mangled wreckage of a car that had been rented in Denmark and driven across the border into Sweden.

Firefighters discovered the body when they responded to the scene of a fire at the Fosie Industrial Estate.

Police said they had not yet identified the bodies but forensic tests would be carried out this morning.

Horribly, the victims are believed to have been shot before the car was set on fire, local media reported.

Police are treating the incident as a double murder.
