Federal agents arrested a Chicago woman on Monday, accusing her of sending emails threatening to shoot former President Donald Trump and his son Barron, according to federal prosecutors and a recently unsealed criminal complaint.
Tracy Marie Fiorenza, 41, was arrested Monday morning for transmitting threats to kill or harm, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago.
The case was filed earlier this month in US District Court in South Florida, but was only unsealed this week.
“I will declare that I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump directly in the face at every opportunity that presents itself!” Fiorenza said in a May 21 email, which federal agents say they admitted to sending.
The letter was sent to the head of an educational institution in the Palm Beach, Florida area, according to an affidavit accompanying the complaint. Palm Beach is near Trump’s home in Mar-A-Lago, Florida.

An Instagram post repeats the oft-denied conspiracy theory that Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell and Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington – both confirmed dead by suicide – were murdered.
She has several posts calling for the former president’s arrest and Illuminati theories on her Facebook wall.
Neither the principal nor the school where the emails were allegedly sent were named in the charging documents.
It was not immediately clear if Fiorenza had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

CBS News Chicago reported Fiorenza made a first appearance Monday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Chicago, and a judge said she must go to Florida District Court to answer the charges.
The judge will decide at a hearing on Wednesday how she will be transferred.
Officers interviewed Fiorenza at the agency’s grounds in Chicago on June 14 — during which time he was shown copies of the emails, according to the affidavit. She admitted sending the emails, officers said.
The affidavit states that Fiorenza lives in Plainfield, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago.
Violence and political threats in a polarized United States have increased in recent years. A Reuters report released earlier this month showed that violence was at its worst since the 1970s.
