Tharina Human, 27, would have devised a plan to kidnap Amy-Leigh de Jager, six, from the arms of mother Angeline outside of her school near Johannesburg to collect a £ 110,000 ransom for a drug debt to pay off.

Amy-Leigh, the daughter of motorboat racer Wynand de Jager, was eventually rescued after her abductors were frightened by the media and left her on a street corner in Vanderbijlpark, close to where she was taken.

Human was said to be a & # 39; trusted and loyal friend & # 39; was from Angeline, and the couple had taken photos together that were shared on social media.

Facebook posts from the now deleted Human profile show the couple referring to each other using the nickname & # 39; heksie & # 39; – which means little witch.

Human was also the form teacher for Amy-Leigh & # 39; s brother Jayden, five.

Human appeared in court on Monday alongside Laetitia Nel, 40, and Jacobus van Zyl, 50, where they were detained while the investigation continued.

The police are still hunting four men who reportedly carried out the abduction.

It is not made clear what the police think was the role of Nel and Jacobus van Zyl in the kidnapping.

The hearing was watched by Angeline, who cried in the shoulder of husband Wyland when her former boyfriend was raised from the cells.

All three were charged with kidnapping and returned to court on September 19 to request bail.

The South African site News24 claims to be in possession of a speech message from Human's father about WhatsApp saying that his daughter was using drugs and was in debt to a drug lord.

It is therefore thought that she devised the kidnapping plot to raise money and pay off her debts.

Reports in South Africa also showed that shortly after Amy-Leigh was abducted last week, Human sent a series of WhatsApp voice notes to parents who said their children were safe, but that & # 39; sickos & # 39; goods.

She also asked for money for & # 39; flowers and a basket & # 39; for Amy-Leigh's parents.

Shortly after the kidnapping, she was also seen outside the school gates where she consoled a tearing Angeline.

The teacher then sent a series of voice notes to a WhatsApp group for parents who said they were & # 39; just as shocked & # 39; was like her and asked them all to pray.

She said to the parents: & # 39; All we can do now is pray that she is safe, wherever and whatever. I promise I'll watch over your children with my life.

& # 39; I'll kill someone hey – I'm just as stressed as you are. We ask that Mr. protect Amy-Leigh. What happened is terrible. You can't imagine it.

& # 39; There are sick people there, you can't take a risk these days & # 39 ;, she said.

Human was arrested on Wednesday at midnight on Wednesday, the day after Amy-Leigh was left at 2:00 am on a street corner by a couple who had just left a cafe and walked to a nearby police station.

Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said the suspects were between 27 and 50 years old and said the search for the rest of the gang continues.

He said: & Amy-Leigh was released on Tuesday morning at around 2.30 am after being abducted from her school on Monday at 7.40 am and we made three arrests during an intelligence-led operation.

& # 39; We have arrested two 27-40-year-old women and a 50-year-old man in their homes in Vanderiljpark and the operation by our specialized teams continues and more arrests can follow and we will keep you informed. & # 39;

It is now thought that Human wanted Mr De Jager's money to pay off a drug debt (Amy-Leigh in the photo on the right)

Distraught mum of two Angeline de Jager had just parked her VW Polo at the school gates to enter her daughter Amy-Leigh and her five-year-old son Jayden when four violent kidnappers struck in balaclavas.

The police believe that Amy-Leigh was deliberately the target because they threw her brother aside and ignored all other children and grabbed the screaming girl who had gathered in the arms of her terrified mothers.

Shortly thereafter, her father Wynand, a champion F1 powerboat racer on the international circuit, received a mobile phone call demanding a ransom of 2 million rand (£ 110,000) for the safe release of his daughters.

The beautiful brown hair and brown eye schoolgirl was thrown away at 7:40 am at Kollegepark Primary School by four black men lurking outside the school gates in a Toyota Fortuner 4 x 4.

Amy-Leigh was dragged from the arms of her distraught mother and bundled in the Fortuner, which then left the school in Vanderbijlpark, just south of the city of Johannesburg.

But the police told TimesLIVE that none of the £ 110,000 ransom demanded by the kidnappers was paid, and that the gang was likely to panic after seeing the amount of publicity the case had generated.

Amy-Leigh & # 39; s Aunt Louise Horn published today on her Facebook page at 4 pm: & # 39; Amy-Leigh is safe with her parents. Thank you Lord. Words cannot describe our praise. There is still a long way to go but thank you Lord.

& # 39; Thank you for a nation that can pray together. We sincerely appreciate every sweet message, call and prayer. & # 39;

Parents Angeline and Wynand had tortured for more than 19 hours and feared the worst and it is not known what threats the abductors had committed if the couple who married in 2014 would not pay.

The South African police confirmed Tuesday that she had been found safe and unharmed.

A private investigator specializing in the tracing of missing children Wendy Pascoe was hired to work with hostages and investigation teams and the SA Crime Intelligence Unit to help her detect.

Wendy told TimesLIVE: “We don't usually see this in abductions, and what's strange is that the vehicle was not taken, but the child was as usual the child is accidentally taken when a car is hijacked.

& # 39; Also very curious is that the kidnappers focused on Amy-Lee because they didn't pay attention to the other kids, which tells us they were waiting for her and knew who she was, & # 39 ; she said.

When Amy-Leigh was found, her school held a special meeting and released pink balloons of joy into the air.

Amy-Lee wore a pink dress, white blouse, black leggings and shoes when she was torn away.

South African media reported that the police were hunting four black men and are investigating connections to see if the kidnappers knew their victim and kept their daily routine at school.

Amy-Leigh & # 39; s grandfather Martin Brouwers told about the kidnapping and said: & # 39; My daughter dropped the kids off at school and Angelina walked them to the side of the car to take them to school.

& # 39; A man just knocked out little Jayden and grabbed Amy-Leigh and jumped into the car and they flew away. Angeline tried to hold the car and she couldn't hold it and was injured, & he said.
