Lufthansa has unveiled an incredible new mile-high club-friendly long-haul cabin called Allegris, featuring a first-class suite with a honeymoon double bed and a giant 43-inch entertainment screen.
This suite, also known as First Class Suite Plus, consists of ceiling-high walls, a fully lockable door and two side-by-side, one meter wide seats that can be converted into a double bed. way for a couple to start their honeymoon.
Friends and business colleagues can book the suite – the seats can be operated separately so that one can be upright and the other horizontal – but it’s an experience best suited for couples: there’s no room divider for privacy, there’s a single table for dining and the huge screen is shared. However, each passenger has access to a tablet to watch movies and TV.
Allegris’ first-class cabin, designed by London-based PriestmanGoode, will be set up in a 1-2-1 configuration, with the Suite Plus seat in the centre. The seats on either side are for single travelers.
First class passengers also have personal wardrobes and seats that can be heated and cooled, says travel expert Rhys Jones of headforpoints.com that is ‘a highlight of other carriers’.

Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa Airlines, said of Suite Plus: ‘Each guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity. The First Class Suite Plus gives the feeling of privacy and individuality comparable to a hotel room, but then at an altitude of eleven kilometres.’
The Allegris business-class cabin, designed by London-based Pearson Lloyd, will also have heated seats, along with an impressive seven seat options – double suites in the center front row, a ‘unique single extra space seat’, a ‘window seat’ with a high degree of privacy’, a seat with an extra-long 2.2 m (7.2 ft) lounger, a seat for a baby crib, two seats that can form a double berth by means of a sliding center console, and a ‘classic’ business class seat with aisle access.

Other business amenities include wireless charging, wardrobe, personal minibar and Bluetooth.
The new premium economy, another PriestmanGoode design, has hard-shell seats so leaning back doesn’t interfere with the passenger, wireless charging in the center armrest, and noise-canceling headphones.
PriestmanGoode also created the new economy seats, with tablet holders and USB ports. In addition, passengers can reserve a free seat next to them.

More than 80 new Lufthansa aircraft will be equipped with Allegris – the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Boeing 777-9, Boeing 747-8 and the Airbus A350.
The first Allegris will appear on the 787 Dreamliner before the end of 2023, with the A350-900 the first to introduce the new first class in 2024.
Commenting on the launch, Daniel MacInnes, director of Priest Goodesaid, “The design team pushed so many boundaries in the development of each of the cabins we created.
‘Lufthansa has not only shown a commitment to include a First Class product, they have challenged us to take it to a whole new level and every aspect has been designed and developed from the ground up.
“The design language doesn’t just speak to the future direction of the Lufthansa brand, it is a signature project packed with features that will attract passengers who appreciate the level of comfort they expect to find at home or in the most premium car brand – and which they now have in enjoy the air.’
