Renner said last week that he “did whatever it took” during his recovery, in a video of him improving his leg strength using a Technogym bike.
Renner focused on his left leg as he sat on the chair and kicked away, using his hand to help with the movements.
Renner also prioritized his “mental recovery” as he curled up by the fire and flipped open The Book of Awakening, a “spiritual diary” written by philosopher, poet, and cancer patient Mark Nepo.
In the accident, Renner used his snow removal tractor to remove his cousin’s car from his driveway near his residence near Reno, Nevada, after it became stuck in snow. However, his snow plow started sliding down a street after the car was towed, prompting the actor to jump out of his cab.
After getting out of the vehicle, Renner realized it could potentially hit his cousin, who was with him at the time of the incident. The Mayor of Kingstown star then attempted to re-enter the snow plow to reroute his path, but was pulled under the left lane and run over during the attempt.
Renner was crushed under the vehicle and was immediately taken to hospital as he suffered from breathing difficulties and several other injuries.
The report from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office found that the snow plow may have had several mechanical problems at the time of the incident.
The artist underwent several medical procedures while recovering at the hospital and often expressed his gratitude to his medical team through his Instagram account.
