A chiropractor who allegedly stabbed his wife and three children in a gruesome murder-suicide in suburban Honolulu has been pictured.
Paris Oda, 46, fatally stabbed his wife and three children — ages 17, 12 and 10 — before taking his own life at their family home in Manoa, a quiet residential neighborhood in Honolulu, according to Honolulu police.
Police have not released the names, but the family’s neighbors identified Oda as the father, as reported by KITV. Officials also have not released Oda’s cause of death.
Neighbors told the local outlet that Oda’s wife, Naoko Oda, was a stay-at-home mom.
They added that the Paris family lived in the house upstairs and that another family renting the unit downstairs had left for a trip to Japan on Saturday.

A tent was erected in the front garden of the house as police carried out their investigation
The five bodies were found inside, but police would not reveal where.
The mass killing is the second deadliest homicide in Honolulu in nearly 25 years.
“HPD investigators are at a residence in Manoa where several deceased individuals were found,” police said in a statement.
Based on the evidence found at the scene and the investigation so far, it appears the adult male killed the female and the juveniles with the knife found at the scene,’ HPD Lt. Deena Thoemmes said at a news conference Sunday evening.
‘Witnesses say there was an argument in the home early this morning. Several homicide investigations have been launched.’
Police said they received an anonymous call about a disturbance at that home on Waaloa Place at 10 p.m. 8:30, but no one answered the door for police officers when they arrived.
Officers returned to the home 45 minutes later at 9:15, when the discovery of the five deaths was made.
‘They (first responding officers) left because it was an anonymous caller and no one was there to meet them,’ Lt. Thoemmes explained. ‘And that’s what they were called to do in the first place. It was the second call when they realized what was happening.’

“I think there was an attempt to find out who the first caller was and then I think at 9 o’clock in the morning that person was able to make contact with HPD,” added HPD Chief Joe Logan. ‘And then contact our officers personally where we could find out more information and gain access at that time.’
The locals were horrified after hearing the terrible news.
“It’s worrying, neighbors are a bit scared, normally we don’t have a lot of crime around here, it’s really quiet so everybody wants to be safe and make sure everybody’s OK, but it’s just something that doesn’t happen here.” neighbor Aime Wakai told KHRON2.
“They’re like the typical really festive family, they decorate the house for the holidays and that’s normal,” added another neighbor Hiro Izumo.
In an update posted to the Honolulu police X account, ‘Investigators have confirmed that the suspect is among those killed at the home.’
HPD Chief Joe Loga said the killings did not appear to be a random act. The motive is under investigation.
A heavy police presence was seen at a residence on Waaloa Place in upper Manoa, Hawaii News Now reported.
Two medical vans were also seen alongside Police Chief Logan and PEER support staff for officers.
