The murderers have ambushed three SUVs over an unpaved road and massacred nine American civilians living in northern Mexico in a horrific Monday attack where one vehicle left a burnt-out hulled hulk, said the authorities Tuesday.
The dead included eight-month-old twins, Titus and Tiana, their mother Rhonita Miller, and brothers and sisters of 10-year-old Krystal and 12-year-old Howard.
Two more mothers, Dawna Langford and Christina Langford Johnson, as well as Dawna's sons, 11 and three years old, were all killed.

The women had driven in separate vehicles with their children from the religious community of La Mora where they live, which is a decade-old settlement in the state of Sonora, founded as part of an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints .
Images show one of the mother's cars covered with blood stains. Another is a burnt-out wreck after attackers set fire to her vehicle, causing the gas tank to explode.
Eight young pigeons were found alive after escaping from the vehicles and hiding in the brush. But at least five had gunshot wounds or other injuries and were being treated in the US, where they were listed as stable, officials and family members said.
Three other children were not injured and stay with relatives in Mexico.

In the clip, a nine-month-old identified as Brixon Oliver Langford, cared for by a medic while other children are in shock, covered in blood and bandaged with their wounds. Brixon was shot in the chest.

The video shared on Facebook was posted by the children's aunt, Dinorah Liddiard. Four of the five children of Dawna who survived the attack have sustained gunshot wounds.
Dinorah said 14-year-old Kylie Evelyn Langford was shot in the foot. Devin Blake Langford, 13, was not injured but walked 14 miles to LaMora to get help after hiding his siblings, Liddiard said.
She added that nine-year-old Mckenzie Rayne Langford got a scrap on her arm. Cody Greyson Langford, eight, was shot in the jaw and leg. And Xander Boe Langford, four, was shot in the back, confirmed Liddiard.
