Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw took the Hollywood legend’s $250 million yacht to the Italian Riviera.
In exclusive footage obtained by MailOnline, the 76-year-old director beamed as he arrived in the picturesque former fishing village of Portofino, holding hands with retired American actress Capshaw, 69.
The port city, with an off-season population of just 355, has become the epitome of Mediterranean glamour, becoming a sanctuary for the rich and famous.
Spielberg’s 357ft superyacht, built in the Netherlands by luxury company Oceanco last year, can carry 14 guests in its seven cabins as well as 30 staff in 15 other cabins.
Spielberg called the yacht Seven Seas after selling his ten-year-old 282ft yacht of the same name in 2021.
The award-winning director, dressed in a smart gray jacket, denim jeans and a cream fedora, looked relaxed as he and his wife entertained friends on the huge superyacht.

The yacht, designed by Sinon Yacht Architecture & Design, features a large swimming pool aft and a spa pool on deck. According to some reports, it also has a helicopter landing pad out front.
It is powered by two MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines which can produce 4,813 hp each and propel the vessel at 20 knots, according to Robb Report.
Spielberg, who was spotted watching Oppenheimer with Beatles legend Paul McCartney in late July, and his wife then took a leisurely stroll through the port city where superyachts float in the marina.
Kris Jenner, 67, and her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, 42, were also spotted in Portofino this summer – as were their exes Elon Musk and Grimes.
Spielgberg’s arrival in Italy coincides with the Venice Film Festival, across the country’s coast. Last night all eyes were on Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, also produced by Hollywood heavyweights Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Cooper himself, who plays the late composer Leonard Bernstein in the film, was notably absent from the Venice Lido, where the festival takes place. Much of Hollywood is staying away from the red carpet due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Maestro is owned by Netflix, a company on strike.
A spokesperson for the festival confirmed last month that it would not take part in solidarity with the strike by actors’ union SAG-AFTRA.
The 2023 Venice Film Festival is expected to be a much more low-key affair than in previous years, as much of Hollywood opts to stay away for fear of strike-breaking.

The glitzy Italian event kicked off on Wednesday and usually sees some of Hollywood’s biggest stars hitting the red carpet to promote their work.
However, this year only a handful of independent productions are allowed to be promoted by their stars, with Venice confirming on Monday that Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain will still be at the festival.
Cooper’s film Maestro found itself at the center of controversy ahead of its Venice premiere.
After a teaser trailer and publicity footage aired, the nose drew heavy criticism from a number of prominent members of the Jewish community, who accused Cooper of resorting to the “Jewish face.” in his portrait.
The makeup artist who created Cooper’s nose apologized Friday for causing any “injury.”
Two-time Oscar winner Kazu Hiro, who once turned Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, said of the storm: “I didn’t expect this to happen. I’m sorry to hurt some people’s feelings.
He added: “My goal, and Bradley’s goal, was to portray Lenny in the most authentic way possible. Lenny had a really iconic look that everyone knows – there are so many pictures because he’s photogenic too – such a great person and who inspired so many people.
“So we wanted to respect the look too, inside. That’s why we did a lot of different tests and made a lot of decisions, and that’s the result of the movie.
However, Bernstein’s family defended Cooper wearing a nose prosthesis in the composer’s biopic. “It happens to be true that he had a nice big nose,” the statement from Bernstein’s children reads.
