She initially began taking virtual lessons with award-winning piano teacher Felicia Feng Zhang before being taken to her studio in Greenwich, Connecticut for in-person sessions.

In six months, the three-year-old made more progress on the piano than some people have over the years, with a talent for the instrument and the ability to learn sheet music quickly.

Her music teacher soon noticed her “exceptional” talent and encouraged her to practice more.

“I said, ‘Brigitte, do you like a challenge? Would you like to be on stage?'” Zhang said.

Brigitte won the prestigious Elite International Music Competition and landed a performance at Carnegie Hall in November.

Speaking to the New York Post, her father, Tao Xie, explained how his daughter developed her love for the piano during the lockdown.

Speaking with the New York Post, her father Tao Xie explained how he developed her love for the piano during the lockdown.

“We’ve tried to keep her busy. She started playing a bit while she was stuck at home during the pandemic,” he said.

“I was amazed at how quickly she got well. I loved it.’

According to Xie, the whole family are big music fans and always play a wide variety of genres.

Her mother, Nicole Sun, who also plays the piano. said she was “deeply moved” when she first heard her daughter play.
