Photos: England roar past Senegal into the quarter-finals

Despite a slow start, England roared three times against a deadlocked Senegal who couldn’t reply, knocking them out of the tournament with a 3–0 win.

2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner and England captain Harry Kane ended the first half with a decisive double on the point scored minutes earlier by midfielder Jordan Henderson.

Bukayo Saka delivered the final blow on a Phil Foden cross in the 57th minute.

Senegal, missing suspended striker Idrissa Gueye and others due to injuries, kept their side from coming together in the face of the dominant England side, despite a remarkable effort from striker Ismaila Sarr.

With victory, England take on the 2018 Cup champions and cross-channel rivals France at the Al Bayt Stadium on Saturday.
