Carrie Bickmore’s loyal fans have lashed out at a group of “disgusting” men who made disgusting comments about The Project star’s body after she posted photos of herself in a pair of bike shorts on Monday.

The TV star, 42, shared a series of Instagram photos of herself enjoying a day in the bush in Victoria with her good friend Fifi Box, 46.

For the outing, she wore yellow shorts and an oversized hooded sweater.

The pictures drew some very inappropriate comments from some of her male fans, prompting her female followers to respond.

“The comments on this post by men are exactly why I’m single and I refuse to let a dirty sleazy man back into my life or my kids’ lives,” one follower wrote below Carrie’s post.

“Some of you have kids and here you are commenting on Carrie’s photos like she’s a piece of meat. It’s disgusting. You are a grown man FFS. Show some fucking respect.

“FFS it’s 2023 and there are still guys out there who think it’s okay to pass sexually inappropriate comments or shaming women from the safety of their keyboards,” wrote another.

‘What would happen if people said these things about your mother, sister or daughter? It’s 2023, we need to be better than that and treat all women with the respect they deserve. Beautiful photos Carrie’, they added.

Meanwhile, Carrie’s celebrity friends raved about how great the star was looking after a rough couple of months.

Carrie announced her split with her partner of 11 years, Chris Walker, in January.

The TV and radio host announced the news in an Instagram statement, saying the couple were focused on raising their three children, Ollie, 15, Evie, seven, and Adelaide, four.

It came just a month after Carrie hosted her last episode of Channel 10’s The Project after quitting because she wanted more nights at home with her family.

“It is with immense sadness that Chris and I have decided to part ways,” she wrote.

“While this is a difficult time, our focus is to raise, love and support our three children Ollie, Evie and Addie with everything we have.

They are doing very well. We will not make any further comments.

The Project said goodbye to Carrie on November 30 after an impressive 13 years.

He thanked his friends, colleagues, and viewers at the end of the broadcast, as well as Walker, who was sitting in the studio audience with her children.

‘Is it too late to change your mind?’ she said, fighting back tears.

‘For Chris. Thanks for everything. Your guidance and advice over the years, your amazing production skills…’ he added.

‘This show has given us a lot. We wouldn’t have our beautiful little prophets if it weren’t for The Project.’

Speaking to her children, she said: ‘You are my world. Love you guys.’

‘To my parents, my friends and my family. It certainly takes a town to help a mother of three do a job like this on television and she couldn’t have done it without all of you. So thank you very much for picking up the pieces,” she continued.

Carrie and Chris’ love story captivated the hearts of Australians.

They met as colleagues on The Project (she was a presenter and he was a producer) and began dating in late 2012, two years after she lost her husband Greg Lange, the father of her eldest son Ollie, to brain cancer.

Despite her terminal diagnosis, Carrie had married Langue in 2005 when she was just 25 years old.

After Langue died in 2010 at the age of 35, Bickmore, a widow, founded the charity Carrie’s Beanies for Brain Cancer in her memory.

Two years later, Carrie had found love again with Walker, who became Oliver’s stepfather, and with whom she later had two daughters: Evie, born in 2015, and Adelaide, born in 2018.
