Comedian Phoebe Robinson has met many – and very many – other celebrities in her time by hosting podcasts, starring HBO specials and acting in films. But nobody comes close to Michelle Obama.
Phoebe, 34, sat down with the former first lady on several occasions last year, interviewed her about the latest episode of 2 Dope Queens and later her & # 39; Becoming & # 39; tour.
And according to the funny lady it was almost as incredible as she had expected.
& # 39; That was absolutely true – I can't believe I'm talking to Meech now & # 39 ;, she told DailyMail.com last week as she promoted her new campaign for Schick Intuition f.a.b. shavers.
What a treat! Comedian Phoebe Robinson (right) told DailyMail.com that meeting Michelle Obama is the & # 39; coolest, craziest thing & # 39; and that she was & # 39; so open & # 39; and & # 39; down to earth & # 39; used to be
The 34-year-old interviewed the former first lady several times on her book tour for & # 39; Becoming & # 39; (shown in April 2019)
& # 39; She was so open that it really looked like you could talk about many things. She's really down to earth and I think she's so willing to give advice, & she said (pictured in December 2018)
& # 39; I think meeting Michelle Obama on her tour of the book was just the coolest, craziest, & # 39; said Phoebe.
& # 39; First of all, we just received a call like, & # 39; Michelle Obama wants you to interview her for your podcast & # 39; and we said "What?" She said, remembering the reaction she and co-host Jessica Williams had.
Because we always joked, "Oh yes, Michelle listens to the podcast." But when she was calling, we said, "Oh, I think she's really listening." & # 39;
& # 39; It was really cool because we wanted to get to know her, and I think she is the first black lady to be the first lady in the White House, it was very busy. I think we remember the good times, but we don't remember that often, it was very difficult for her. She was very busy. & # 39;
Phoebe and Jessica were uncomfortable by asking Ms. Obama all about gas around Secret Service employees, attending Beyonce concerts, and undermining IVF.
& # 39; She was so open that it really looked like you could talk about many things. She's really down to earth and I think she's so willing to give advice and be a little open and welcome me to her world, & Phoebe said.
Dream team: she and Jessica Williams (right) first interviewed her for their podcast 2 Dope Queens
She said: & # 39; We used to joke, & # 39; Oh yes, Michelle is listening to the podcast. & # 39; But when she arrived, we said, "Oh, I think she's really listening to it" & # 39;
Mrs. Obama shared a video with Phoebe during a stop of the book tour in April
Stars seem to be in the habit of being open to Phoebe, who has her second book & # 39; Everything & # 39; s Trash, but It & # 39; s Okay & # 39; in October.
Reese Witherspoon has even been there to give her advice and talk about her own production company.
& # 39; I certainly sent her an e-mail and I like: & # 39; Hey girl, I just need a little bit of advice, you've done so much & # 39;, & # 39; she said.
& # 39; I started this production company and she has Hello Sunshine, so I thought, "Girl, I've never run a business, I've never started a business," so she gave me some tips on how to do it tackles.
Reese advised her about hiring the right people and trusted her vision, and at the end of the day, to remember that she knows more than she thinks she does.
& # 39; She thinks of, just trust your instincts & # 39 ;, she said. & # 39; She has always been so hot and very busy, so the fact that she will take the time and will be like, "You have this, you know what to do" – it's really cool about that where she has everything to do with helping each other. & # 39;
Famous friends! Phoebe also starts her own company and reveals that she has been emailed with Reese Witherspoon for advice. The actress told Phoebe to trust her instincts
On her bucket list: Phoebe still wants to interview Whoopi Goldberg (left) and Kamala Harris (right)
Phoebe has sat down to chat with many stars since she became famous with her podcasts 2 Dope Queens and Sooo Many White Guys.
On bookshelves: Last year Phoebe released her second book & # 39; Everything & # 39; s Trash, but It & # 39; s Okay & # 39; from
In addition to Reese and the former first lady, her recent interview topics were Adam Scott, Trevor Noah, Padma Lakshmi, Jameela Jamil, and Vanessa Bayer – but there are still many people on her list.
& # 39; I would like to interview Whoopi Goldberg, & # 39; she said. & # 39; That would be so nice. She is so smart and she really did so much for comedy in so many different ways. So I'd really like to sit by her and say, "Tell me everything." & # 39;
When it comes to politics, a sit-down with presidential Kamala Harris would be at the top of her list.
& # 39; I would like to talk to Kamala Harris, & # 39; she said. & # 39; I find her really exciting and I think she has many good ideas. So it would be great to sit down and chat with her. But I am really interested to see how this will all shake up. Just watch, observe. & # 39;
And although her podcast Sooo Many White Guys wants to put everyone but white boys in the spotlight, she has made a few exceptions in the past – and would do so again in the future.
& # 39; Chris Hemsworth is super funny. He destroys me in the Avengers so I think it's very nice to talk to him, & she said. & # 39; I think Bradley Cooper is cool. I like that he directs now and that is really great. He is expanding his brand. & # 39;
Oh, the technology! Phoebe is currently in the lead role in a new campaign for Schick Intuition f.a.b., a razor that shaves in both directions
Outsourcing: the campaign, called & # 39; Shave Thoughts & # 39 ;, highlights the funny ideas that come to mind when you can sweat out while shaving
Phoebe & # 39; s funny new campaign for Schick Intuition f.a.b. shavers
In addition to her podcasts, HBO comedy specials, books and a new general deal with ABC Studios, Phoebe & # 39; s also the lead role in a funny new campaign for Schick Intuition f.a.b. shavers called & # 39; Shave Thoughts. & # 39;
& # 39; I am constantly thinking in the shower, & # 39; Phoebe told DailyMail.com while promoting the razor in New York City
& # 39; Like most people, I am a hairy person and you know shaving always costs me forever, it's really annoying, & # 39; she said about her involvement with the brand.
& # 39; So the really cool thing about Intuition f.a.b. it's super simple because you just put it on your skin and you don't have to lift it. It is bidirectional. & # 39;
The razors have unique two-way knives that allow users to pull it both up and down over their legs without turning it around.
& # 39; So you can swim out, think about your day, have some shaving thoughts where you can come up with something funny. I'm always thinking in the shower all the time. & # 39;
Some of her personal shaves have surfaced in the new ads, with Phoebe shaving – in both directions – while she lets her mind wander.
& # 39; If cardio is something that increases your heart rate, does the texting & # 39; and from your loved one count as exercise? & # 39; she wonders in one.
And in another: & # 39; Why is it called & # 39; ghosting & # 39; if ghosts are known to never go on? & # 39;
