A restaurant owner has slammed customers who posted scathing one-star reviews of his food.
Pho A Gogo, a Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne’s Southbank district, has attracted almost 9,200 reviews on Google.
The restaurant, which has an impressive average rating of 4.8 stars out of five, has not disappointed the vast majority of diners.
However, the excellent reviews have recently been overshadowed by a series of one-star ratings.
Many claimed the owner and staff were unfriendly, while others felt the food portions were too small.
“The quirkiest establishment in Melbourne,” raged one customer.
Another added: ‘Stop by this place if you can. Expensive and children in portions. There are hundreds more places that offer better photos.
The negative reviews did not go unnoticed by a person who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant, who responded to the reviews.
He responded to several comments and called some people “stupid,” claiming they were making fake reviews.
‘Who hurt you, who betrayed you or who broke your heart, eh?’ the person responded to a post.
One critic was branded a “faceless coward.”

Despite the negative reviews, many diners praised the quality of the food (pictured) they were served at the restaurant.
Duke Chu, the owner of Pho A Gogo, claimed that the negative reviews contained false accusations about the restaurant’s food and service.
He also claimed that the reviews were created to damage the restaurant’s reputation.
“I’m sure many have never been here, but they still make up the story and post it on Google (without honor or dignity, they are faceless cowards),” he said. news.com.au.
‘Still, I responded by offering to introduce myself – if I was wrong, I will refund all the money and apologize – but no one showed up.
‘We also know that no matter how hard we try or how good we are: there is bound to be someone who doesn’t like it and then exaggerates the issue for the sole purpose of destroying our livelihood.’
It appears that some of the recent negative reviews have since been edited.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Pho A Gogo for further comment.
Most of the restaurant’s reviews were full of praise.
‘This is the best pho I’ve had in Melbourne. Super friendly owner. I’ll be back, I highly recommend it!’ wrote one diner.
Another added: ‘The quality of the food is really good. I would love to come back for sure next time we are in Melbourne.”
Michael Tang, a social media user who frequently reviews restaurants, described the restaurant as a “strange” place in a TikTok video he uploaded last year.
‘Has anyone been to Pho A Gogo in Melbourne? Just read the reviews,” she said.
Michael Tang (pictured), a social media user who often reviews restaurants he visits, described Pho A Gogo as a “strange” place when he went to the restaurant with some friends last year.
The clip showed Mr Tang and his dining companions pressing the doorbell outside before being greeted by staff and let in.
He noticed that there weren’t many people inside the place and was taken aback by the amount of time it took to prepare Pho, a popular Vietnamese soup dish he ordered.
But Mr. Tang admitted that the food wasn’t that bad.
“If you want to experience something strange and unusual, then come to Pho A Gogo,” he said.
