Chynna Phillips has admitted many of her friends have ‘rejected’ her because of her strict Christian views – weeks after she revealed her love for Jesus had taken a toll on her marriage to Billy Baldwin.

The former musician, 56, who converted to Christianity in 2022, spoke of ‘how painful it is’ for her to have ‘family members, friends and colleagues’ who don’t share her religious views in a recent video shared to her faith-based YouTube channel, California Preachin’.

She described knowing that some of her loved ones had ‘not been saved’ by Jesus as ‘crippling and crippling’ while chatting with her friend and fellow Christian, Becket Cook.

“Just knowing how many people around the world are not saved, it’s actually torture,” she said.

‘When you think about it for too long, it can really start playing games with your mind.’

Chynna explained that after she ‘got saved by Jesus’ in 2022, she sat down all her friends to try and convince them to do the same.

But in the end, she said, many of them ‘rejected’ her newfound point of view.

“I sat my friends down to talk about (my faith) and about a quarter of the way through, it didn’t take long for me to see this kind of glaze come over their eyes,” she recalled.

“As loving and as gentle and graceful as I tried to be, I could see in their eyes that there was this reluctance to what I was saying.”

She revealed that ‘a few’ of them seemed ‘receptive’ at first, so she ended up ‘dipping them in her bathtub’ – but in the end they didn’t end up ‘following through’.

The star added that she is ‘so amazed’ by her friends’ reactions before she and Becket decided to say a prayer for them.

‘I thought it would be a good idea to pray for all the unsaved souls,’ she concluded in the video. ‘For all our friends and family who are unsaved.

‘Lord, you know how debilitating it can be for us at times, it’s crippling, so we ask you father to help us remember that ultimately it really is in your hands.’

Back in January, Chynna admitted her honestly the belief had caused a serious ‘break’ in her relationship with her husband, Billy, 61.

Back in January, Chynna candidly admitted that her faith had caused a serious “rift” in her relationship with her husband, Billy, 61

The pair sat down for an unabashedly candid on-screen discussion about their marital woes, saying the former socialite’s dedication to Jesus had become an ‘obvious issue’, prompting Billy to question whether they would ‘do that in the long run. ‘

“You and I have this kind of systemic problem in our relationship that we’ve been very honest about from the beginning, which is that you see your life and the world through a very different lens than I do,” Chynna told Billy.

“Sometimes it tends to cause rifts and small chasms in our relationship and we try our best to navigate those differences.

“The Christianity aspect has been kind of a glaring issue for a while because (religion) has kind of overtaken my life in a lot of ways.

“It may have even made you question whether you and I can really make it in the long term.

‘You would never divorce me because of that – but (I think you’re wondering), “Will we be able to stay really happy and connected and thriving with me on this Jesus path?”‘

In early January, Chynna posted another video discussing the rift her faith had caused in her marriage to Billy.

At the time, the mother-of-three said she and the actor had been ‘separated for six months’, but she did not specify when the break occurred.

She also claimed her religion had sparked a ‘power struggle’ between her and her husband, whom she married in 1995 and has welcomed three children with.

She said: ‘I’ve been with Billy for 32 years and we have a great marriage but we’ve definitely had the hardest years of our marriage in the last few years, it’s been a real struggle.

‘I think it’s because I just took a deep dive into Jesus, and I think he didn’t quite know what to do with it, because it was kind of all Jesus the whole time.

“We had a kind of power struggle. The Bible says (wives) should submit and (husbands) be the head, and that’s all true, but it also says the husband should treat the wife like the church and all that, so I think I just was struggling with it.’

Chynna also said that she and Billy feel like they have very little in common lately.

“Sometimes he’s like, ‘You’re not into the things I’m into. You’re not into politics, you’re not into wrestling, you’re not into the philanthropic stuff that I do,” she continued.

‘We did a few things together and it was great and very fulfilling, but we’ve never really found that one thing that the two of us can stick with and do together as a team, and so I’m praying in 2024 that we going to find that one thing that the two of us can do together that feels really fulfilling.

‘I’m not 23 anymore, I met him when I was 23 and I’m changing. I’m growing, you know?

‘I’m not the same person I was 30 years ago and I refuse to have the same marriage we had 30 years ago. It is time for us to mature and grow.’
