Musicians, actors and fashion icons descended on Miami for a whirlwind week of party glamour, celebrating some of the world’s best artists at Art Basel.
Saturday night was the highlight of Art Basel as the parties at the festival came to a close.
Philipp Plein and LA graffiti artist Alec Monopoly celebrated the drop of their capsule collection and the opening of their PHILIPP PLEIN Miami store at the Fontainebleau Hotel during Art Basel Miami on Friday, December 8.

Among the attendees were Frances Bean Cobain, Victoria Silvestedt and Smokeypurp who enjoyed cocktails and perused the collaborative fashion pieces including Alec Monopoly artwork that was on display at the event.

The AlecXPlein capsule collection debuted at the PHILIPP PLEIN Resort 2018 fashion show in Cannes in May 2017 and is now available in stores worldwide.
Alec Monopoly also hosted the Fontainebleau Hotel’s first art acquisition, featuring a series of original hand-drawn Helmut Newton portraits. The hand-painted “Elsa Peretti Bunny Shot” is installed as the centerpiece of the hotel’s LIV nightclub throughout Art Basel.

After the event, the after party began with Cardi B performing to a cheering crowd at a hotel in South Beach.
“Alec Monopoly” is the pseudonym of an anonymous graffiti artist, originally from New York City. The artist works primarily in the urban environments of major cities around the world, using a variety of materials (including stencils, spray paint, epoxy, varnish, and newspaper) to subversively depict various popular cultural figures.
