Phil Foden has been named Premier League Young Player of the Season after a stunning breakthrough in Manchester City’s senior squad.
Foden defeated City teammate Ruben Dias, who won the Player of the Season award, as well as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Illan Meslier, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
The 21-year-old was involved in 14 Premier League goals in 17 starts and 11 substitute appearances throughout the season.

His breakthrough came after he got his chance on the wing from Pep Guardiola – who helped City complete a clean sweep to win the Manager of the Season award.
Foden established himself as a key member of City’s midfield following the departure of David Silva.
Foden becomes the second recipient of the award, given to the best player aged 23 or under, after Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold won the award last season.
Fans claimed Kane was ‘robbed’ for not getting the prize for the Manchester City defender
Not everyone was happy, however, with City dominating the prizes, with many fans expressing frustration that the main honor went to Dias, such as Premier League top scorer and assist-maker Harry Kane.
One fan tweeted: ‘Harry Kane BErobbed, Dias’ impact is so exaggerated he hasn’t been Van Dijk levels anywhere, Harry Kane led the league in goals AND assists’
Another supporter wrote: ‘Ruben Dias PL player of the season? Harry Kane brutally robbed.’
Meanwhile, a fan added: ‘Ruben Dias wins PL POTS over PL top scorer and playmaker Harry Kane is the biggest joke I’ve ever seen. Most overrated defender in the world.’
