A former radio presenter has divided Australians after threatening to call the police on his neighbor because they were playing drums too loud during the night.
Mitch Churi, who previously worked at KIIS FM, shared footage on TikTok of his neighbor playing drums at 8.30pm on Christmas Day.
“POV: Your neighbor got a battery for Christmas,” he wrote in the caption.
The images showed the neighbor surrounded by several guests dressed in Christmas costumes while he continued playing.
“It’s 8:30 on Christmas night, this can’t be happening,” Churi said while filming from her balcony.
It’s inside. Who the hell is he acting for? Oh, the family, they’re sitting and watching!’
Churi said she was going to call the police because of the disturbance.
Dozens of commentators were baffled by his complaint and wondered if the matter warranted a visit from the police.

—Did the police laugh at you? one person wrote.
“I don’t think the police will even attend,” another person wrote.
A third added: “I bet you’re great at parties.”
Others said the noise was harmless and urged Churi to get into the holiday spirit by letting others enjoy the festivities.
“Dude, it’s 8:30pm on a holiday, let him have his fun,” one person wrote.
“It’s Christmas man, if this was on a Monday at 10 maybe I’d understand but 8:30 isn’t even late,” another person wrote.
“There are noise laws for a reason and he has the right to do what he wants,” a third chimed in.
Some agreed with Churi’s complaint and said people should be mindful of other residents.

‘As long as you’re having fun, who cares if you make life miserable for your neighbors, eh?’ one person scoffed.
“I should never have to put up with that shit,” another person wrote.
“It’s an annoying noise,” chimed in a third.
Several saw the funnier side and praised Churi for uploading the satirical video.
“He’s taking the piss and we all need people like that at parties,” one person wrote.
“How dare that person have fun with his family,” another person added.
Churi later uploaded a humorous video on Boxing Day and said the issue was resolved with a blatant jibe at the dozens of commenters, who took issue with his complaint.
“Update on the battery situation, the police were called (and) they arrived,” he said.
“They arrested him… and the battery was confiscated and is ready to be destroyed.”
A noise level of five decibels above background noise is permitted in the area in residential areas of New South Wales between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Churi was the former co-host of the drive-through show The Pick Up hosted by former Bachelorette stars Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley.
In November he announced that he had been fired from the network after eight years working at the radio station.
