Pete Wicks has opened up about his “failed” love life and shared his fears that he “might die alone” because he’s “not ready for a relationship”.
The TOWIE alumnus and Strictly 2024 contestant, 36, said he hopes to get married and have children but isn’t ready yet.
Pete admitted that he needs to “fully understand himself” before committing to a serious relationship and settling down.
Talking with The Times MagazineHe said: ‘I’m almost 36 years old. I want to get married and have children. I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities, but what’s the point if I can’t share them with anyone?
‘At this point, I’m not ready to commit wholeheartedly to a romantic relationship because I don’t fully understand myself yet.’

Maura and Pete were spotted kissing at the Broadwick Soho Hotel last month as they enjoyed an intimate al fresco lunch.
The couple was first reported to be dating in October 2023, when they were seen getting pretty cozy at the Pride Of Britain Awards.
In pictures obtained by The Sun, the celebrity duo can be seen kissing passionately.
Maura, who split from her boyfriend, American actor Bobby Holland Hanton, earlier this year, wrapped her arms around Pete’s neck and kissed him during a romantic lunch together.
A source told the publication: ‘Maura had been sitting on the terrace with friends for an hour before Pete arrived.
‘After sitting there for a while, Maura moved closer to Pete for a long kiss. It wasn’t the kind of kiss you’d give a friend, it was very passionate.
‘Maura and Pete seemed to be very much in love with each other and kept looking into each other’s eyes before kissing again several times. They were completely in love. They seemed totally in love and weren’t trying to hide it from anyone.’
Pete admitted that he needs to “fully understand himself” before committing to a serious relationship and settling down.
He said: “I am almost 36 years old. I want to get married and have children. I have been blessed with so many opportunities, but what is the point if I can’t share them with anyone?”
He added: “Right now, I’m not ready to commit wholeheartedly to a romantic relationship because I don’t fully understand myself yet. I would love to find a wife, but you know what? I might end up being one of those men who dies alone.”

Looking ahead, Pete added: “I’d love to find a wife, but you know what? I might end up being one of those men who dies alone.”
Pete hopes Strictly Come Dancing, which starts next week, will make him “let go” and “enjoy himself”.
The reality star recently revealed that his best friend Sam Thompson’s girlfriend Zara McDermott pressured him into taking part in Strictly, despite allegations that he had been abused on the BBC show.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine last week, she spoke about how the former Love Islander’s “love” for the show was the driving force behind her decision to sign up.
He admitted: ‘Zara was the one who pushed me to do this because she loves the show. I was quite honest about the fact that I’d never actually watched it.
“I first saw Strictly on the first live show last year when Zara was on and I thought, ‘Wow, this is amazing’ but I never really imagined myself doing it. Sequins and all that stuff aren’t necessarily my style.”
He added: “I’m petrified. I’m like a Ferrari from the waist down and a Volvo from above. I have the hips but nothing else.”
