Pete Davidson spoke out for the first time since his reckless driving case was dismissed during his stand-up comedy show on July 20 in Atlantic City.

According to a witness who spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com, Pete, who was wearing a baseball cap, a blue Ocean Casino Resort hoodie and baggy black cargo pants, told the crowd at Ovation Hall that he received a call to inform him the charges had been dropped and replied: “Hooray? I guess.”

“I did something wrong. It’s nothing to celebrate,” the 30-year-old said.

The comedian went on to detail the 50 hours of community service he “just finished.”

Even though the car accident took place in Los Angeles, he was able to complete his community service in New York City at Lenox Hill Neurosurgery, where his sister, Casey Davidson, is a physician assistant and “connected” him.

The Saturday Night Live alum detailed the “pretty wild” but “really cool” experience of being part of a show where he closely followed a brain cancer surgeon who performs experimental brain cancer surgeries.

Without mentioning the surgeon’s name, Pete said that all of the doctor’s patients are terminally ill and that he has been given permission to test new methods against cancer.

“I just find it funny, not what he does, but that I’m there. I find it funny that I can watch this big prestigious man because usually to do something like that you have to work really hard or be a doctor.

“The other four people that were there following him were four doctors that were part of this program and they all acted like they had won some kind of lottery,” Pete explained.

He went on to say that one of the four followers was a boy from Germany who studied for 12 years.

Meanwhile, Pete ‘got into a garage’ and landed on the show.

“However, I felt very humbled by those patients. It was very comforting to be around them,” he continued. “I always feel sad and very grateful for my life. I couldn’t imagine being one of those patients.”

In addition to 50 hours of community service, in order to get his only misdemeanor charge dismissed, Pete had to complete “a safe driving course and visit a hospital and morgue to deal with the fatal consequences of risky decisions.”

Pete called the California judge’s orders on the three tasks “fucking.”

“I thought: Can I go to jail for just one day? It seems like six weeks of work.”

The Bupkis star told the audience at the Ocean Casino Resort that he was “angry” about having to take an “eight-hour class on cadavers,” visit the morgue to “look at a dead body that died in a reckless driving accident” and then had to write an essay about what he learned.

After the misdemeanor charge was dismissed on July 18, Pete said he’s “having a good year” following the “scary” March 2023 car accident when he crashed his Mercedes into someone’s house in Beverly Hills while going “100 miles per hour.”

His girlfriend at the time, Chase Sui Wonders, was also in the vehicle.

Pete opened his show over the weekend, which is part of his comedy tour, Pete Davidson: Prehab, by discussing the car accident.

He explained that he didn’t see the stop sign until the last second and then avoided hitting a man by crashing into a fire hydrant instead, which was safer than, with his luck, accidentally “killing” someone.

“I saw the house and thought, ‘I don’t think you can die if you hit a house. Usually in sitcoms, they just go through it,'” he recalled. “So I swerved and aimed for the house, but I actually hit the garage pretty good. Even at my worst, I’m pretty right.”

“I was really scared,” Pete said after thinking about what the conversation with the police officer would be like and believing that he would actually “go to jail.”

“The policeman arrived, he was very angry because I crashed into a building. I was going crazy and I had to calm down,” he said. But then he realized that “no one had died” and that “I was not drunk.”

The house he crashed into reportedly had to be completely demolished due to the impact. Pete warned the homeowners to “keep the lights on at 3am.”

At the time, police said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

Pete, who completed a stint in rehab last summer after struggling with borderline personality disorder and PTSD, said he now only smokes marijuana.

“I still can’t quit. It’s all I have left. I did cocaine and ketamine and all the pills and all that shit. All I have left is marijuana, so it’s almost over, but I’ll hold on a little longer,” he told the audience Saturday night.

While the actor did open up about some aspects of his personal life, including the fact that he’s seeing a dermatologist to remove some of his tattoos (like Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin doing cocaine), he didn’t discuss any of his famous exes.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Pete and Madelyn Cline, 26, had split after nearly a year of dating.

A source exclusively told DailyMail.com that she is now “surrounding herself with friends” and even drove with her pals from New York to Atlantic City.

“Pete is miserable most of the time,” the source shared. “The only time he isn’t is when he’s working and performing on stage.”

After his stop in New Jersey, a source said Pete “rushed back to New York to watch the Jake Paul fight with friends.”
