A distraught mother has said a heartbreaking goodbye to her beloved three-month-old daughter – when her own boyfriend was charged with murder for the child’s death.
Sarah Nash’s daughter Elyssia was found with what police described as ‘catastrophic brain injury’ at her childhood home in Girrawheen, Perth, on March 12.
Two days later, the baby died, and Mrs. Nash’s boyfriend, Zach Meier, was now charged with murder.
“To my beautiful bubba girl, Ely … I love you always and forever,” Mrs. Nash recalled The Western Australian

Mrs. Nash said it was impossible to describe “the heartbreak I’m going through” and the loss of her ever-smiling baby.
[She had] a smile that melts your heart. She was very curious and always looked at everyone around her. And she was kind of like her mother, ”Mrs. Nash said.
Meanwhile, the last hours of baby Elyssia’s life merge as Mrs. Nash tries to come to terms with the death of her beloved baby.
It was revealed that March 12 – the day Elyssia was rushed to the hospital – was both Mrs. Nash’s and Meier’s birthday. Both are 30 years old.
Elyssia’s father Robert Ahrens (pictured together) posted a eulogy on his Facebook a few days later mourning the loss of his young child
Mrs. Nash alleged that her friend ran to her neighbor – who is a nurse – to give CPR the child.
The young mother returned to an empty house and then discovered that her baby “did not respond” when treated by emergency responders, who delivered baby Elyssia in an ambulance.
“Zach is the only one who knows what happened. He was the only one there, ”said Mrs. Nash.
Meier was initially charged with serious bodily harm, which was upgraded to murder, in the Perth Magistrates Court.
He appeared in Perth Magistrate’s Court via video from Hakea Prison and was taken into custody until April 28.

Earlier, the girl’s father, Robert Ahrens, posted a eulogy on his Facebook mourning the loss of his daughter.
“My daughter Elyssia (Ely) was taken from us way too early when she was only three months old,” wrote Mr. Ahrens four days after her death.
Friends of Elyssia’s grieving parents gathered around the family, and one created one GoFundMe to help pay for the toddler’s funeral expenses.
Please help raise funds to help Sarah and Rob give their princess the goodbye she rightly deserves. Tonight a beautiful precious angel is getting her wings … fly high Princess Elyssia, we’ll miss you so much, ” fundraiser Kel Duffield wrote.
