A young father who suffered a broken jaw, broken eye socket and nose after he was allegedly attacked by up to 10 strangers following a night out with friends has relived the ordeal.

Zachary Hepping, 24, was outside a venue on Murray Street in Perth’s Northbridge nightclub district early on Sunday when the “unprovoked” attack unfolded.

“I was walking by and bumped into someone and they asked me, ‘What’s going on?’ and from there, yeah, they just started,” said the father of five. nine news.

‘My lip is swollen, my eye is obviously closed. I can’t see with this eye.

Mr Hepping lay bleeding on the ground in a street for 40 minutes and claimed police witnessed the assault and “stayed there basically for a long time” before letting the alleged attackers leave.

“They gave me some water and that’s it,” he said.

Paramedics were called to the scene but arrived after Mr Hepping was taken to hospital.

Shortly after being released from the hospital, he went to the police station looking for answers.

“This is just horrible,” he said.

‘People can’t go out and just have fun now.

‘It’s about this. Smashed face, broken jaw, broken nose, broken eye socket. Is this what we have come to?

Mr Hepping has since been admitted back to hospital for further treatment.

He will require surgery to repair the damage to his face.

Police told Nine News that officers patrolling the premises saw a group of men fighting in the street and made them move forward.

No arrests or charges have been filed.
