The survival game Occupy Mars has received an Early Access release.
In Occupy Mars: The Game you land all alone on the eponymous red planet and have to build up an entire colony on your own.
Sound challenging? It is! Anyone who has read Dimis Preview knows: Here you can expect what is perhaps the hardest survival game in a long time.
Around four years after it was first announced, the title finally has a release date, and it’s supposed to start in a few days.
Soon you will be able to build your Mars colony
Like the developers announced on Steam Occupy Mars will be released on May 10, 2023 on Steam, Epic and GOG. But there are a few things you should keep in mind for the forthcoming release.
Initially, however, the game will only be available as an Early Access version. However, the developers have not yet revealed how long this phase will last.
The content that you will be able to play in about two weeks has not yet been finalized either.
The developers shared the following via Steam:
Our team is currently finalizing the list of features that will be available in the Early Access release, which we will publish in our next devlog. All other features will be unlocked in the next updates.
We are working hard to ensure a smooth release of the game. This is also why we’ve been pausing our weekly streams lately – to focus 100% on bringing you the Early Access build.

What is this game anyway? If you haven’t heard of Occupy Mars yet, let’s recap what it’s all about.
In this survival game from controversial Publisher Playway you land as a lonely astronaut on Mars. Your goal will be to make colonization of the planet possible.
For this you have to collect tons of resources and build a base, typical of a survival game. While in many other titles of the same genre often only food, temperatures and diseases seek your life, in Occupy Mars many more obstacles await you.
Not only do you have to provide water and food on the desert planet, electricity and oxygen also need to be generated.
According to the developers, you also have to pay attention to your sleeping rhythm – if you don’t sleep in, you start the day with reduced life points – almost like in real life.
