The perfumery has recorded bumper sales after shoppers splashed out on Valentine’s Day gifts.

The company, which has 211 stores across the UK, said sales between February 4 and 14 were 18 percent higher than the same period in 2023.

During this time the firm sold a total of 200,000 bottles of perfume. Best sellers for women included YSL Black Opium, Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense and Carolina Herrera Good Girl, announced by model Karlie Kloss.

Popular scents for men include Dior Sauvage and Boss Bottled Night. Sales of gift sets were more than double what they were last year.

The day before Valentine’s Day, February 13, was the busiest day of the year on its website so far, as customers rushed to purchase last-minute gifts.

Online perfume purchases increased by 23 percent compared to the same day last year.

Andrea Rickard, commercial director at The Perfume Shop, said: “We are very pleased to see exceptional sales results both in our stores and online.”
