Celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton says he hopes Justin Timberlake’s arrest serves as an “ego check” for the superstar after he spent “decades skating through life.”
On Tuesday, news hit the web that the 43-year-old former NSYNC member had been arrested for drunk driving in the exclusive Hamptons enclave of Sag Harbor.
Now, media personality Perez, 46, has weighed in on the Dan Abrams scandal. NewsNation.
He believes the hitmaker has spent most of his career getting out of “difficult situations” unscathed due to his famous name, and that this should be a revelation to him.
“I think what we’re seeing is an ego check,” he told the publication. “For decades, he has been able to skate through life and difficult situations because he is Justin Timberlake, because he is rich and handsome, white and male.”

On Tuesday, news hit the web that the 43-year-old former NSYNC member had been arrested for drunk driving in the exclusive Hamptons enclave of Sag Harbor.
Police sources said TMZ that the Sexy Back singer was arrested shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Police reportedly saw him run a stop sign and observed him cross the street.
The father of two failed a field sobriety test and was handcuffed and arrested, according to a police report. At the police station he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
According Page sixthe arresting officer “was so young he didn’t even know” who the singer was.
“She didn’t recognize him or his name,” a source told the publication, while a second source added, “Justin said quietly, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.'” The cop responded, “What?” tour?” Justin said, “The world tour.”
Perez also said that “I wouldn’t be surprised if Justin Timberlake had driven drunk before.”
“And I wasn’t surprised that his friends weren’t more adamant that he shouldn’t drive,” Perez continued.
“What we’ve been seeing over the last few years is that what used to work for him no longer works for him, both professionally and personally.”
The blogger said he was “surprised” that Justin hadn’t “released a statement” yet about the incident, adding that acknowledging his mistake “would be a huge help.”

The musician appeared shocked as he looked forward and was handcuffed.
After a brief arraignment in which he was banned from driving for a year in New York, he was released without bail and left court wearing a baseball cap.
He was charged with a DWI charge, as well as running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. His next court appearance will be July 26.

Perez previously defended Justin after he faced an avalanche of backlash following the release of Britney Spears’ memoir.
In the tome, Britney, who dated Justin from 1999 to 2002, accused him of cheating and claimed she had an abortion because Justin “wasn’t ready” to be a father.
Perez later noted that Justin had already apologized to Britney and that ‘he’s not that person anymore.’
“People who don’t like Justin Timberlake will still not like him, and I think his fans will still like him and understand that this was over 20 years ago and he’s not that person anymore,” she said.
