Creator Kaalen posted a video of himself covering his face in exasperation as an on-screen caption reads, “when the order gets closer and closer to the $50 mark and now you’re going to have to stop them to get a manager.”

This explains why once the order reaches that amount, the employee must wait for the manager to enter their code number and approve the transaction before resuming the order.

This policy within McDonalds, however, appears to be for any transaction up to this amount; another commenter claimed their store had an even lower limit.

Many have commented on the price increase meaning the $50 limit is coming much sooner than before.

‘$50 is like 3 meals. “I can’t even get 50 McChickens anymore,” one said.

“Now $50 isn’t even that much food at most fast food places,” another wrote.

Some were not aware of the process that goes on behind the counter, one wrote: ‘as a family of 6, we always spend so much. I had no idea this existed’

Others have shared experiences where their workplace had similar policies that caused chaos during their shift.

One said: “One time there were 100 and my manager was nowhere to be found, I was dying.”

“(I) was in the back booth and someone wanted to add something to their order and I said ‘oh…wait, I need a manager’ so I stood there awkwardly while I waited,” wrote another.
