A man has left people stumped after displaying a Green Card pamphlet given to new immigrants that describes the United States in a state of… constant emergency.
“They gave (my friend) this pamphlet called Welcome to the United States,” TikTok user Farai Bennett shared, holding up the small glossy paper.
The brochure listed crucial information for people moving to the United States, and Ferai laughed at the obvious, and sometimes redundant, information listed.
“I just want to read a little bit of what’s here in the section called Getting Settled in the United States,” he began.
“Step number one: find a place to live,” he read.
TikTok user Farai Bennett shared the pamphlet online, holding up the small glossy paper as she read the strange suggestions.
“Number two, find transportation,” he continued, adding that next is the “kicker.”
Ferai noted that while the other captions were suggestions, one of them simply told the recipient to “get a job.”
“Don’t look for a job, get a job,” he laughed.
“America is cheating on you,” he joked. ‘find, find and get, get!’

The next suggestion was to take care of your money and “improve your English language skills.”
At this statement, his friend, who was in the background, intervened saying “I’m from Canada,” while both dissolved into hysterical laughter.
“Find free information in your local community,” he read. ‘Connect with community organizations that help immigrants.’
A Green Card, also known as a Permanent Resident Card, allows its holder to live and work in the United States indefinitely.
However, it was the last one that really piqued Ferai’s interest.
“Prepare for emergencies,” he declared, noting that he did not specify which emergencies to be alert for.

TikTok users couldn’t believe how little (and useless) information was provided in the brochure for new residents of the country.
“We’re basically saying ‘good luck,'” one user noted.
‘My favorite was “find medical care.” “I can’t believe you skipped it,” one user shared.
Others couldn’t believe how small the pamphlet was.
“That fact is that it’s not even a triptych with information, but just a fold,” they joked, and Ferai replied: “Fortune cookies have more layers than this.”
‘I’m surprised they were only given a brochure. When I moved to Belgium, the embassy gave me a whole book,” another shared.

“You can also learn about important historical events that have shaped the United States, as well as the importance of getting involved in your community and tips on how to do so,” he suggested.
