Penny Wong has purchased a large $3.4 million property in one of Adelaide’s most prestigious suburbs.
2GB presenter Ben Fordham shared news of his purchase on Friday morning, just weeks after Anthony Albanese snapped up a $4.3 million clifftop property on the Central Coast.
Senator Wong’s new property includes a grand entrance, swimming pool and formal dining room, situated on a 1,350 square meter lot surrounded by extensive gardens.
“Guests are led into the home through a wide, stately hallway, the soaring 12-foot-high ceilings indicating the grandeur that will continue throughout the entire building,” the real estate listing said.
The home also features a basement, a large open kitchen, and a formal dining room.
Senator Wong’s office confirmed that he had purchased the property with his wife Sophie Allouache.
‘Minister Wong and his wife have bought a new family home. They are preparing to sell their current property and that of the minister’s mother, who died earlier this year.’
