The designer behind the boots of Kate Middleton said she was “excited” to see the royal in her favorite pair yesterday.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 38, wore her familiar knee-high Penelope Chilvers for £ 475 yesterday afternoon for her surprise visit to The Ark Open Farm in Newtownards, Northern Ireland.
She has owned the boots for at least 16 years and was spotted for the first time at the Blenheim Palace Game Fair in August 2004.

The footwear has become a fixture for Kate in the 16 years since their first outing in 2004, when she was still studying at the University of St Andrews.

The boots reappeared exactly one year later when Kate attended the Gatcombe Festival of Eventing in Gloucestershire.

Royal spectators noted that the duchess was well advised to complete the walk to the famous Tiger’s Nest monastery, despite wearing jeans, a blouse and a khaki-colored cardigan.
Her classics from Penelope Chilvers, however, were certainly comfortable enough and the royal stepped forward with her husband.
