Despite standing by her husband’s side last week, Melania Trump reportedly has no plans to join her husband on the campaign trail this time around.
Former first lady Melania, 53, has been frequently absent from public life lately due to the death of her mother earlier this year.
She stood behind her husband as he accepted his awards and gave a short speech about the joy he felt playing at his West Palm Beach golf club Sunday night.
However, a source close to the campaign said cnn It’s not clear she will attend any of her husband’s rallies, and multiple sources say she won’t “have a beefed-up role anytime soon.”
“She will definitely have a role, but in terms of what it is, I don’t know,” the source said. “It’s her decision on how much or how little she will campaign.”
Despite being at her husband’s side last week, Melania Trump has no plans to join her husband on the campaign trail this time around.
It’s not even clear yet whether Melania will have any public role at August’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, although she is expected to participate.
However, they point out that the former FLOTUS is reflective and could change her mind in the future.
“She’s very selective and methodical in what she wants to do and how she presents herself,” another source said.
“She’s very decisive about these things and knows they have a lot of intended and unintended consequences.”
Melania has only appeared twice at public events since her husband announced his third consecutive bid for the White House.
She was by his side at his campaign kickoff at Mar-a-Lago in November 2022 and appeared with Donald to cast her vote in the Florida primary, which he won handily.
When asked when he would be back on the road, he could only smile and say, “Stay tuned.”
According to Stephanie Grisham, Melania’s former chief of staff, she prefers her style to that of current first lady Jill Biden, whom she believes almost keeps President Joe Biden upright.

“Melania has said, ‘I don’t need to support Donald like Jill Biden,’ it’s like she’s holding up Joe Biden,” Grisham said.
Trump’s 2016 opponent isn’t his First Lady style either: “She’s not going to do that Hillary Clinton ‘stand by your man’ thing.”
In an interview with Megyn Kelly late last year, former President Trump described his wife as mysterious in response to questions about her whereabouts.
“I think part of the beauty is that mystery,” Trump said when asked what people misunderstand about his wife of more than 20 years, before comparing her to Hollywood legend Greta Garbo.
“She was a great actress, but she was very reclusive and never gave an interview. I don’t see Melania like that, but she is introspective and self-confident… She doesn’t need to be out there (to be interviewed),” she explained.
‘She is confident. She has a lot of confidence in herself.’
Trump said at the time that Melania is doing very well and described the former model as a “very strong, well-adjusted good woman.”
“She’s a very calm person, I think that’s what people like about her,” Trump told Kelly.
