Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden have not spoken since she forced him to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election, the still-powerful former House speaker admitted.

Pelosi was instrumental in Democrats’ effort to get Biden out of the race in July after a disastrous and troubling performance in his first and only presidential debate against Donald Trump of the 2024 election cycle.

In a podcast Tuesday, the California Democrat confirmed that the once-close allies had not spoken since Biden was forced to make the surprising move. She said: ‘Not since then, no. But I pray in prayer for it.”

Pelosi maintained that while she still considered the president a friend and political ally, she knew she had to do something to shorten his time in the Oval Office.

The desperate and late move came amid continued concern about Biden’s mental acuity and ability to lead, but was fueled by Democrats’ concerns about whether he could beat Donald Trump in November.

And, in fact, Pelosi also admitted that it was the politics of beating Trump that drove the decision to end Biden’s campaign.

‘Choices are decisions. You decide to win. “I decided some time ago that Donald Trump will never set foot in the White House again as president of the United States or in any other capacity,” he told The Guardian.

“So when you make a decision, you have to make every decision in favor of winning… and the most important decision of all is the candidate.”

she added: ‘I have the greatest respect for him. I think he is one of the great important presidents of our country.

“I think his legacy had to be protected. I didn’t see that happen during the course of the election. My call was simply: ‘Let’s take a better course.’

He will make the decision on what that is. And he made that decision. But I think he feels some unease because we’ve been friends for decades.

He said he was looking forward to Kamala Harris occupying the Oval Office in November.

‘She relies on her strength, her knowledge of politics, strategy, presentation and the rest. And I think that’s a different race than Hillary Clinton ran.”

Pelosi added: “I always thought America was more ready for a female president than a female speaker of the House.” The United States Congress is not a glass ceiling there. It is a marble ceiling. And it was very difficult to get there.

But I think the public is better disposed. In Congress they told me, ‘Understand this, there has been a pecking order here for a long time of men who have been waiting for vacancies to come up and take their turn.’ And I said, ‘That’s interesting. “We have been waiting more than 200 years.”

Candidates are ramping up their campaigns as November approaches.

One of Harris’ top campaign advisers called publicly available polls “horses***” just as her race with Donald Trump tightens.

David Plouffe, senior adviser to the Harris-Walz campaign and former adviser to Barack Obama, was adamant while speaking on the ‘Pod Save America’ podcast that the presidential race is closer than some polls show.

‘I can’t speak to public polls. I spend very little time looking at them… most of them are horses***,” the strategist admitted.

“Some of them may be close, but overall, I would say any poll that shows Kamala Harris up four to five points in one of these seven states, ignore it,” he said, referring to critical battleground states.

“Any point that shows Donald Trump like this, ignore it.”
