Pedestrian fighting for life after being hit by hit-and-run driver in Adelaide

A man was left in critical condition after being hit by a car.

The 50-year-old pedestrian, from Bowden in Adelaide’s inner-north, was hit by a car on Hawker Street shortly before 8pm on Monday night.

The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical condition on Tuesday.

The vehicle reportedly left the scene before police arrived.

Major accident investigators have processed the crash site.

Hawker Street was closed between Drayton Street and Gibson Street but has since reopened.
