Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel has made fun of Margot Robbie’s shock Oscar presentation.
The comedian was in the middle of his opening monologue at the show on Sunday when he joked about Margot’s blockbuster Barbie, which is nominated for Best Picture alongside hot favorite Oppenheimer.
He also took a shot at Margot’s co-star Ryan Gosling, who received an Oscar nod for his role as Ken at the box office.
“Ryan and Margot, I want you to know that even if neither of you wins an Oscar tonight, you’ve both already won something much more important — the genetic lottery,” Kimmel said.
Both stars laughed at the joke, but the response in the auditorium was muted.

Earlier in his monologue, Jimmy blasted Academy voters for snubbing Barbie in many categories, including Best Director and Best Actress for Margot.
‘Barbie, what a movie. What an achievement. Taking a plastic doll that no one even liked anymore, now Barbie is an icon thanks to Greta Gerwig, who many people think should be nominated for best director,” he said.
‘I know you’re clapping, but by the way, you’re the ones who didn’t vote for her. Stop acting like you had nothing to do with this.’

The blonde bombshell paired her dress with a diamond and gold bracelet and ring, with her blonde locks loose and parted in the middle.
The movie star, who starred in the Barbie movie as the title character, kept her make-up to a minimum and chose to showcase her stunning natural beauty.

It comes after Barbie turned out to be one of the most successful movies of all time.
Meanwhile, Hollywood trade paper Variety announced last year that Barbie, which Robbie produced, is the biggest hit of 2023 in the US.
So far, the film has pulled in an eye-watering $1.36 billion at the US box office ($2.6 billion in Australian dollars).
Starring Margot Robbie in the title role, the satirical comedy is about what happens when Barbie enters the real world.
