Biden’s weak stance on pro-Palestinian student protests will spell disaster for him at the polls, a famous conservative journalist warned.

Andrew Sullivan says Biden’s lackluster approach to campus chaos is enough to get him kicked out of the White House.

This, combined with “chaotic” border policies and Biden’s stance on transgender rights, will be enough to kill any chance of re-election, according to Sullivan, a conservative gay journalist.

“Biden is losing this election, deservedly so,” he wrote in his Substack. “And if he can’t pull off an all-powerful turnaround — and I suspect at this point, he really can’t — this election is really Trump’s to lose.”

In outlining his reasoning, he pointed to the student protests over the Vietnam War in 1968, which are largely blamed for costing Democrats the election of Richard Nixon.

Sullivan, who is a staunch critic of Donald Trump, now fears that the former president could take advantage of Biden’s oversights to return to office.

‘This is how you get Trump re-elected: continue to pander to the far left, flatter wealthy college graduates, allow millions of fraudulent “asylum seekers” into the country, insist that men are women, discriminate against whites and Asians and men, while constantly appearing to simply react to events rather than creating new political realities,” Sullivan wrote.

His comments echoed those of Stephen Collinson, a political analyst for the left-wing group cnn.

“President Joe Biden cannot afford a long, hot summer of protests that reach a boiling point in time for the Democratic National Convention in August and then spill over into the final weeks of an already poisonous showdown with Donald Trump,” he wrote. .

More than 76 universities have seen pro-Palestine protests emerge in recent weeks and more than 2,000 activists have been arrested.

On Thursday, Biden finally addressed the growing unrest, following scenes of protesters destroying university property and replacing Old Glory with the Palestinian flag.

However, he was careful not to further alienate progressive voters who have already become disillusioned with his stance on the war in Gaza.

“I understand that people have strong feelings and deep convictions,” he said.

‘In the United States, we respect and protect their right to express that. But that doesn’t mean anything goes. It must be done without violence, without destruction, without hatred and within the law.”

In contrast, Trump took a tougher stance, criticizing protesters for disrupting learning and order, denouncing them as “raging lunatics and Hamas sympathizers.”

‘I tell all university presidents to remove the camps immediately. “Defeat the radicals and take back our campuses for all regular students who want a safe place to learn,” he said Wednesday at a campaign rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Responding to the comments, Sullivan said: “It was fine so far, but it was only given when he had no other choice, after Trump egged him on.” […] It was reactive, not proactive. His calm words were overwhelmed by the noise of the streets.

Sullivan said Biden’s “far-left” stances on abortion and transgender rights, including support for so-called “gender-affirming care” for children, are further alienating voters.

The journalist and some other prominent gay figures have said that some aspects of trans orthodoxy are homophobic because they encourage children struggling to come to terms with being gay to believe they are actually trans and to undergo irreversible medical procedures.

Independent Senator Bernie Sanders warned that Biden could suffer a fate similar to that of Lyndon B. Johnson, who saw his Democratic support dissolve over the Vietnam War and the resulting student protests.

Johnson was forced to withdraw from his re-election bid and his successor Hubert H. Humphrey lost to Nixon.

In terms of his campaign, I’m thinking back and other people are making references that this may be Biden’s Vietnam,” Sanders told CNN.

‘Lyndon Johnson, in many ways, was a very, very good president. He decided not to run in 1968 due to opposition to his views on Vietnam.

Meanwhile, a prognosticator who has correctly predicted every presidential winner over the past 40 years also identified the campus protests as a potential weakness for Biden.

Allan Lichtman affirmed that social unrest is one of the keys that could cause Biden’s disappearance.

Lichtman, a history professor at American University in Washington, D.C., devised a system, which he calls the ’13 Keys,’ for the White House and wrote a book in the 1980s explaining the idea.

However, he insisted that “a lot of things would have to go wrong” for Biden to lose to Trump in November.
