Paul Pogba’s four-year drug ban has been reduced to just 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In a major development that comes as a significant victory for the midfielder, Mail Sport can exclusively reveal that the World Cup winner’s original suspension, which began on September 11, 2023, will end in March 2025.
Pogba faced a possible retirement from football if the CAS had confirmed his four-year suspension.
However, the 31-year-old can start planning to resume his career.
In fact, it is understood that the CAS ruling will allow Pogba to resume training in January 2025.

The former Manchester United midfielder faced possible retirement if the ban was upheld.
However, he can now start planning his return to football and will be able to play in March.
His original fine of 5,000 euros has been annulled.
In the final ruling of the CAS it was confirmed that Pogba inadvertently took DHEA, a substance that increases testosterone and is on WADA’s list of prohibited substances.
Most importantly, however, the ruling establishes that DHEA has an effect on women.
Pogba’s appeal took place at CAS headquarters in Switzerland at the end of August and the player has only recently been informed of the verdict.
The former Manchester United midfielder was suspended after playing for Juventus in their first match of the 203/24 season against Udinese on August 20.
Mail Sport revealed in May that a US clinic 10X Health Systems is at the center of Pogba’s ongoing fight to clear his name, with the company named in the midfielder’s appeal submissions.
It was confirmed that Pogba inadvertently took DHEA, which increases testosterone but affects women.
Pogba’s appeal took place at CAS headquarters in Switzerland at the end of August and he was only recently informed of the verdict.
It is understood that there is photographic evidence of the 10X Health Systems name appearing on the label of at least one of the pill bottles received by Pogba.
Pogba’s representatives declined to comment. Mail Sport has contacted CAS for comment.
