Paul Nicholls has four horses ready to race at Cheltenham on Wednesday, including Lallygag in the Kingston Stud Handicap Hurdle.

Other Nicholls-trained horses in action will include Il Ridoto, Rare Middleton and Wild Max.

Here, Betfair Ambassador Nicholls shows us his horses before they take to the track on Wednesday.

Cheltenham

14:05 – Lallygag

He’s not the biggest and should be happier over fences now after struggling a bit over fences. He hated the testing conditions last time at Taunton and will enjoy the dry ground at Cheltenham.

Lallygag (pictured) is expected to do well on the Cheltenham drying pitch.

14:40 – The Ridoto

He is a regular at Cheltenham and usually runs very well in these two and a half mile handicap races. It didn’t quite happen last time at the Festival, when he was behind in the early stages before falling to the finish line. He’s got his chance, but he probably still has a pretty tough handicap mark.

17:00 – Rare Middleton

He won cleanly at Doncaster in December and I expected another big race from him in the Sussex Champion Hurdle at Plumpton over Easter, but he lost his position halfway through and, although he continued, was unable to get back into the leaders. He will enjoy the terrain at Cheltenham, should adapt to the track and has a solid chance.

17:00 – Wild Max

After missing eighteen months with a leg injury, he only needed his first race of the season at Taunton in February and became a little tired in the closing stages. He has come a long way since then, he is another of ours who will appreciate the better terrain and will soon be back to chasing.

The best opportunity

Weird Middleton. 17.00. With the conditions in his favor, he appears to have a solid chance.
