In August, Paul spoke out publicly in support of his son Regan, months after revealing during a television interview that he is bisexual.

The sportsman went on to say that Regan stayed with him for several weeks in the early stages of his career in Newcastle, and that he and his son are now in regular contact via phone calls and text messages.
