Paying tribute to Paul on GoFundMe, organizers wrote: ‘There was NO ONE like Pauly. His enthusiasm and vitality for life were magnetic. He was warm, kind, funny; actually hilarious, vulnerable, self-deprecating and captivating. Being his friend was a visceral experience and I challenge anyone to close their eyes and imagine Pauly with anything other than that huge, brash, dimpled smile.

“NEVER one to conform or do anything in an expected or generic way, Paul truly was the most ‘Extra’ and unique person you will ever meet.”

The post continued: “It’s no secret that he struggled and lost his way at times, but in his true essence, the REAL Pauly, he would do anything for anyone, no matter what.”

‘Whether you knew him from school, Hollyoaks, Love Island, CBB, his rehab journey, or were just lucky enough to cross paths, he’s bound to have left a gaping Pauly-shaped hole in your heart right now.

‘But he also left behind a 9-year-old son, DeNiro, and a devastated family. This page has been created in Paul’s memory to make his son’s journey a little easier.’

Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian donated £100 and wrote: “What heartbreaking news.” Much love and our deepest condolences to his family .’

Meanwhile, Sadie Frost gave £30 and said: ‘Oh Pauly… I’m so sad… I loved you so much and so did Raff, who always valued your friendship. Huge kisses forever and rest in peace my love ‘.

Another co-star, Hannah Curtis, echoed Sadie’s donation, saying: ‘Paul was kind to me on set. Made me laugh. Sending love to his friends and family.’

Paul’s accident is believed to have occurred while the actor was full of hopes of returning to television after getting his life back on track.

The actor had been approached to take part in Celebs Go Dating and was feeling optimistic after getting his life back.

In a podcast seven months ago, Paul told how he lived in a “dry house” in Bristol, believed to be the £392,000 flat where he was found dead.

The Grade II listed property, part of a former Georgian asylum, features a swimming pool, gym and tennis court along with 10 acres of grounds.

Also registered at the one-bedroom property is Judith Kim Skelton, 46, a personal development coach who specializes in mental health.

Paul’s neighbors said he “kept to himself” in his first-floor apartment.

One told MailOnline: “I didn’t know he was famous, I don’t think anyone who lived here knew who he was until he died.”

“His family has been here ever since and asked us not to say anything.”

Another neighbor said she saw an ambulance at the community entrance of the gated mansion in Bristol.

He added: “Then I discovered that the man who lived (in the apartment) had died.” I didn’t know him, it’s very sad.’

Avon and Somerset Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Residents said they thought Paul lived alone in the apartment where he battled his demons of addiction.

Until recently, Judith was director of a company called Morning After Drama, where Paul gave talks to fellow addicts at a meeting house in Bristol on Monday nights.
