Paul Anderson dons a smart suit for a shopping trip as the troubled star fears for his well-being after he was photographed walking the streets topless months before starting work on the Peaky Blinders film.

Peaky Blinders star Paul Anderson appeared to be back on form as he ventured into London on Wednesday, shortly after raising fears for his well-being during an earlier appearance in the city.

The popular actor, best known for his role as gangster Arthur Shelby Jr in the BBC drama, looked dapper in a two-piece suit as he called at a local newsagent.

Anderson, 46, completed the look with a white T-shirt and black Chelsea boots, while red-tinted sunglasses were her only notable accessory.

The actor’s latest public appearance contrasted sharply with his previous one, during which he looked pale, emaciated and disheveled as he walked the streets near his £1.2million home.

It comes just months after he was caught with crack cocaine after a day in the pub. He was also found to have amphetamines, as well as diazepam and pregabalin.

A local shopkeeper, who considers Anderson a friend, told MailOnline: ‘It’s heartbreaking.’ It is a disaster. But his erratic behavior is causing real problems. He often seems dazed and not with it.

He has had discussions with local people. She walks making a lot of noise. We are all very worried. She had a big row in Tesco a few weeks ago.

“He lives as if he were on another planet. He has been in public topless. He has trouble walking. It is a great concern. It seems out of control. It’s tragic.’

Another said: ‘Slowly his appearance has been getting worse over the months. It really stands out in the area. It is awful.’

Despite concerns about his health, Anderson appeared to be in good spirits as he called into a local store, a leopard-print protective face mask tucked under his chin.
