Patti Newton temporarily pulled out of Grease: The Musical after suffering from Covid.
The 79-year-old posted on Instagram on Sunday night to announce to her fans that she would be missing a performance of the show in Sydney this week.
“I’m so sorry to miss the trailers for Grease,” the showbiz legend wrote in her caption.
‘Unfortunately Covid has hit me again. I’m looking forward to coming back next week,’ he added.
The image showed Patti all dressed up for her role as Miss Lynch in the popular musical production.
Her famous friend was quick to offer her support to the veteran artist in the comments.

“Do you need me to serve you some chicken soup?” wrote radio host and television personality Chrissie Swan.
“Please rest, I hope you recover quickly,” added actor and singer Tim Campbell.
Patti was previously hit by Covid just as she was about to begin her run in the Melbourne production of Grease: The Musical in December 2023.
The showbiz icon shared the sad news with her fans at the time, posting on Instagram to show off her legs covered in a blanket.
‘Happy new year, I hope it will be a wonderful 2024. Covid has hit me, but I wish the cast of Grease an amazing first show. See you there soon,’ he wrote.
Patti renewed her career in show business as a way to cope with the loss of her beloved husband Bert Newton, who died in October 2021 at the age of 83.
She launched into a featured role in the touring stage production of Mary Poppins before joining Grease.
Married to Bert for 47 years, Patti told the Herald Sun that doing the hit musical was one of the “best things” she could do for herself because it helped her heal.

She said her late husband Bert will always be her one true love and she is still haunted by his death in 2021.
‘Bert will always be the love of my life. I will never stop thinking about him,” said the interpreter.
She then revealed some of the ways she is keeping Bert’s memory alive since he passed away on October 30, 2021, after a long illness.
‘When Bert was in Epworth Hospital, he had this little wooden cross. A friend of mine had given it to him. “Bert used to pick it up from the tray and kiss it,” he said.
I would hold it for a minute and then put it down. I take him to the theater and before a show I pick him up and kiss him.
‘I hold him close to my heart like he did and say, ‘Come on, Bert, let’s keep going.’ He comes up on stage with me.’
It comes after news that Patti was working hard late last year to reunite her son, Matthew Newton, with his sister, Lauren, according to a new report.
Woman’s Day claimed the troubled actor, who lives in the US, is largely estranged from his family in Australia and that Patti was “fighting to get her son” back into the fold in time for Christmas.
“I know Patti tries to keep in touch with Matthew, but she doesn’t always hear from him,” a supposed source told the publication.
“It’s sad that he accepted this level of contact.”
Part of the problem is an ongoing rift between Matthew, 47, and his sister, the magazine alleges.
“I would say there wouldn’t be much, if any, communication between the Newton brothers,” the source claims, claiming there is some “jealousy” at play.
