Patsy Palmer has confirmed her Los Angeles home is “miraculously fine” but admitted she feels “helpless” after devastating fires continue to ravage her “hometown” of Los Angeles.
The EastEnders actress, 52, moved to Malibu in 2014 along with her husband Richard and their children, however, she is currently in London for work.
Watching the horrors in America from afar, he took to Instagram to confirm that his home is now safe and offered his support to the victims, urging them to “meditate” and “take deep breaths.”
She began: ‘I just woke up after sleeping for the first time in quite a few nights, obviously due to the fires in California where I live.
“I’m here in London working feeling pretty helpless and the only thing I can do from here is share everyone’s resources and work tirelessly to help and give what people need.”
Offering his advice, he continued: ‘All I can say is I hope it doesn’t seem like something unattainable to people right now, but honestly, meditation.

She confirmed that while her home was miraculously saved she feels an “overwhelming sadness” at what might have been lost as she shared clips of her rescued possessions.
‘If you can find a few seconds to breathe as deeply as possible. Understand that what is gone is gone, the future is just a dream, it is not real.
“What we all have, no matter what circumstances we’re going through, all we have right now is this time, right now, this present moment.”
The star also shared another post of some of the sentimental possessions she had taken out of her garage over Christmas after the fires started, before the recent devastation.
Revealing that her husband called her to tell her they had been evacuated following a fire in their neighborhood, she confirmed that while her home was miraculously saved she feels an “overwhelming sadness” at what might have been lost.
Cleaning the garage he wrote: ‘Precious memories, photographs, mementos, etc. I felt overwhelming sadness that we almost lost these things.
‘We had the most grateful Christmas to date, mainly enjoying being together, still in our house. I returned to London to work my heart out NEVER EXPECTING THIS TO HAPPEN a week later!
‘I experienced a small part of what it feels like to have lost everything we own and it was painful enough to experience this again is beyond words.
‘Miraculously our house is fine again. It is traumatic for everyone to lose everything they own and the precious memories that we often don’t know we have in our garages. We laugh and say to get rid of it, but when we take it, the effect is different.”

Patsy explained that in 2018 a part of Malibu burned and she and her family lost a rental so they were homeless for three months.
He continued: ‘I come from Bethnal Green and it is a world away from this type of disaster.
“Having been through that, I also know how amazing a community can be.” It was so beautiful to see how everyone came together and helped everyone through things, trauma and everything really.
‘My family and pets are safe and I know I will do everything I can to help. It’s surreal when you drive 20 minutes down the road and it’s like nothing is happening. The sun is shining and life goes on (thank goodness), but yeah, it sure is surreal.
‘I send all my energy to everyone today. May you be blessed with healing love and so much understanding in this crazy time. I will share resources while I am helpless again here in London. I love you all so much.’
She said in a post Thursday alongside a photo of the fires that her “brain was fried” and that many of her friends in the area where she lives had lost their homes.
Patsy had returned to the UK last Saturday before the fires broke out and said it was difficult to be so far away as the fires raged.
Patsy wrote: ‘My heart is broken. My brain is fried today watching AGAIN the devastating scenes of the fires in my hometown. I just got back home just in case after the fires a couple of weeks ago and left on Saturday to work in the UK and now this.
‘My family is safe, but many of my friends have lost their homes again, which is extremely traumatic.

She said in a post Thursday alongside an image of the fires that her ‘brain was fried’ and that many of her friends in the area where she lives had lost their homes (pictured at her Malibu home in 2023).
Patsy wrote: ‘My heart is broken. My brain is fried today watching AGAIN the devastating scenes of the fires in my hometown.’
‘Being here so far away is really very difficult. I am praying and crying as I write this. I am helpless here, but I am praying a lot. Please contact us if you need anything. Richard and the children are there safe and sound and evacuated.
‘This is huge. I really didn’t expect this. With a broken heart. Stay safe.’

Last year, Patsy admitted she would “never live in the UK again” as she lives her “dream life” in Malibu.
The star, who has now rejoined EastEnders and is flying back to the UK to film, said he “pinches himself every morning”.
Talking to DJ Lorcan and DJ YUKI on their podcast Random Jump Replay The actress talked about her life by the ocean.
She said: “It’s lovely that we live in our own little bubble, Malibu is their little place, we keep a lot to ourselves and we have lots of English friends.”
‘I pinch myself every morning when I wake up and see the ocean, it’s like a dream. But I have created that.’
He continued: ‘I don’t think I would live in England again. I would like to experience something more in life, but I’m not sure I can do it.
“I’m very happy and grateful for where I am, so I’m not going anywhere quickly.” I don’t know what that could look like. It just depends on life and where it’s going. I only think about doing what makes you happy.
