The New England Patriots reduced its squad to 53 players by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, but building the initial practice squad for the upcoming NFL season remains a work in progress.

The Patriots announced its first seven signings to the practice squad Wednesday afternoon. All of them participated in the Patriots’ training camp this summer.

A practice squad can have a maximum of 16 players, so we should expect more additions in the coming days and weeks.

The biggest name on the list is running back Kevin Harris. He had a good training camp and played very well in the third and final preseason game against the Washington Commanders, during which he caught a ball. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s 18-yard touchdown pass.

Harris was among a few somewhat surprising cuts the team made before reducing its roster to 53 players on Tuesday.

Here is the complete list of players currently on the Patriots’ initial practice squad (this list will be updated as more additions are made):

UPDATE (Thursday, August 29): Wide receiver Jalen Reagor, cornerback Isaiah Bolden, offensive guard Michael Jordan and defensive tackle Trysten Hill, the four players who were released Wednesday to make room for The team’s waiver list additions — were in the Patriots’ locker room Thursday before practice, indicating they are back on the practice squad.

Center Bryan Hudson, who spent the offseason with the Detroit Lions, was also added to the practice squad.
