Patrick Mahomes confronted Gehrig Dieter after the Royals tied the game 2-2

Patrick Mahomes was in action Wednesday night as the Royals hosted the Yankees in the ALDS.

The quarterback attended the game with his brother Jackson and was also seen watching the matchup with former Chiefs teammate and Yankees fan Gehrig Dieter, who was dressed in Bronx Bombers gear.

But Mahomes gleefully confronted his former teammate as the Royals tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning.

The passer gave Dieter a friendly punch and yelled in his face.

Meanwhile, Dieter pretended to stand at attention before Mahomes walked in the other direction.

Mahomes, whose father Patrick Sr. was an MLB pitcher, is a part-owner of the Royals.

Dieter, meanwhile, is named after Yankees legend Lou Gehrig.

The 2017 undrafted free agent spent four years with the Chiefs through 2021.

After the Royals gave Mahomes a chance to taunt his friend, the Yankees responded in the eighth inning when Giancarlo Stanton hit a go-ahead home run to give New York a 3-2 lead.

The Yankees held that slim lead and Dieter finally got the last laugh on Mahomes.

Game 4, which the Royals need to win to stay alive, is tomorrow night.
