A plane passenger was left disgusted after being exposed to his parents’ foul odour while they were changing his baby’s dirty nappy mid-flight.
“The people in line in front of me are changing a dirty diaper in their seats,” wrote the original author, OP for short. on Reddit’s Delta subreddit.
“The smell is horrible. Has anyone ever experienced it?”
‘There’s no reason not to do this in the bathroom.’
In later comments, they added that they were a family of five with three children, the eldest of whom appeared to be about six years old.

The person said he eventually decided to change seats to escape the stench.
When a flight attendant asked them why they were seated elsewhere, they explained the situation, emphasizing the bad smell.
The flight attendant then spoke to the father.
“She told the father that it was unsanitary and that she needed to do it in the bathroom and thankfully he just said it was okay and didn’t throw a tantrum,” they described.
That seemed to calm the situation down.
Hundreds of people reacted to express their sympathy for the nauseating situation.
“That’s something you can tell them or a flight attendant. There is LITERALLY no need to deal with that shit in the cockpit,” one wrote.
“Oh yeah, I’ve had this happen before – the family was in the front row of the cabin (I was in the back row). The dad and the other kid went to shit while the mom was changing his diaper. I wear a mask with some Vicks Vaporub in it and had a hard time filtering out the stench,” another person recalled of a similar experience.
The smell was so bad that the person ended up changing seats and alerting a flight attendant, who then spoke to the family.
Hundreds of people took to the comments to lament the stinky situation.
“The sad thing was that the baby was obviously having bowel problems, as the mother was changing his diaper once an hour. After a while, I heard someone in the cabin yelling where the hell the father was, which he kept doing every time.”
“Yeah, people do this all the time because their logic is that it’s just baby poop. POOP IS POOP. It’s disgusting. Use the damn changing table,” argued a third.
“I had this experience on a night flight. The smell literally woke everyone up. The flight attendant came over to yell at the mother that she had to go to the bathroom. But the damage was already done and it took a while to get rid of the smell,” added a fourth participant.
This is far from the first case of drama leaked online involving children on air.
