A passenger has died after falling ill on a flight from Bulgaria to Liverpool; the emergency forced the plane to divert to Cologne.
Jet2 flight LS3214 departed Burgas for the UK shortly after 1:00pm local time on 16 September.
Approximately two hours into the flight, the crew declared an emergency due to a medical situation involving a man on board.
The pilots requested an immediate diversion and the Boeing 737-800 landed in Germany after a rapid descent.
The man was reportedly Suffering cardiac arrest, and despite the best efforts of the passengers and crew on board, he tragically died.

Jet2 flight LS3214 departed Burgas for the UK on the evening of 16 September.
The plane was parked in a remote area of Cologne airport, AirLive reported, and a medical team was called to the scene.
The flight’s return to the UK was delayed until later that evening.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that flight LS3214 from Burgas to Liverpool Johnn Lennon was diverted to Cologne on Monday 16 September due to a customer requiring medical assistance.
‘We can unfortunately confirm that the client has sadly passed away.
‘We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the client’s family and friends at this difficult time.’
