Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo has become a national icon following his exploits in Paris.

The 24-year-old will take home two historic Olympic gold medals and will be greeted as a hero when he lands back home.

And according to CNBC, Yulo will receive big rewards in addition to his gold medals.

He will reportedly receive 10 million pesos (£136,591) from the Philippine government, as well as another 6 million pesos (£81,955) in cash incentives from the House of Representatives.

But aside from money, he has also received support from local businesses. Yulo has been gifted a three-bedroom property in Taguig City, as well as a lifetime supply of ramen, macaroni and cheese and colonoscopies.

“Congratulations to our Golden Boy for securing his second gold medal in men’s artistic gymnastics – vault!” said a ramen bar in Calasiao in a social media post.

‘To celebrate your extraordinary achievement, we’re thrilled to offer you a special gift: FREE RAMEN FOR LIFE, not just for you, but also for your wonderful and supportive girlfriend, Chloe Anjeleigh. Enjoy the taste of victory and love with every bowl!’

Yulo has won the first medal of any color for her country in gymnastics and only the second (and third) gold medal in its Olympic history.

“I was just hoping to do well. I wasn’t really expecting a medal. I really felt like it was a reward. It’s crazy because I couldn’t sleep last night,” Yulo said Sunday.

“I still haven’t understood it. I was very sleepy this morning. I didn’t know what to do. But today I did it,” he said.

Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. said on Facebook: ‘Filipinos around the world stood together, applauding and cheering’ Yulo.

“There are no words that can express how proud we are of you, Caloy. You have achieved GOLD for the Philippines not once, but twice!”

Yulo’s prize money is quite extravagant compared to what Australian athletes receive.

Gold medallists receive $20,000, silver medallists are rewarded with $15,000, while bronze medallists earn $10,000 from the Australian Olympic Committee’s medal incentive fund.

Athletes who receive multiple golds will only receive $20,000 in total.

By comparison, Hong Kong athletes who win gold receive $1.17 million and Singapore athletes who take home the top prize receive $1.13 million.
