Paris Hilton, 43, opens up about her love for Princess Diana and why she has such admiration for her.
In a joint interview with her best friend and former Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie for W Magazine Published this week, the socialite explained why Princess Diana was a woman she admired as a role model.
“Princess Diana had such a big heart and was always using her platform to help children and help the world be a better place,” Hilton explained to the outlet.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s mother tragically passed away in a fatal car accident when Hilton was just 16 years old in 1997.
However, the heiress’ affection for royalty is nothing new, as this is not the first time she has expressed her love for the iconic princess.

“Princess Diana had such a big heart and was always using her platform to help children and help make the world a better place,” Hilton recently said of the royal.
In 2017, Hilton said Maria Clara that she admired elegant women like Princess Diana and could have been like them, but the 2003 leak of her sex tape with her then-boyfriend, Rick Salomon, “took all that away from her.”
“It’s really painful, because my whole life I really admired Princess Diana, all these elegant, amazing women, and I feel like (Salomon) just took all of that away from me,” she tearfully told the outlet at the time about herself. ex, who was 33 years old at the time the tape was leaked.
“It could have been like that, but because of that tape I will always be judged and considered like anything that is said about me because of a private moment between my boyfriend and I,” she added.
Last year, the DJ also spoke about the international icon and even expressed her sympathy for her son and estranged member of the royal family, Prince Harry.
She revealed that she had read his infamous memoir, Spare, and watched his and wife Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries.
“I read it and I also watched the show and I thought I’d been through a lot,” Hilton said while speaking to UK Magic Radio Breakfast host Harriet Scott, according to The evening standard.
She even compared her biography to her own, Paris: The Memoir, where the mother of two opened up about her traumatic experience at Provo Canyon School and more about her childhood.
Hilton explained that she could relate to Prince Harry because she “knew how difficult” it could be to live life in the public eye.
Last year, the DJ also spoke about the international icon and even expressed her sympathy for her son and estranged member of the royal family, Prince Harry.
“I can’t imagine just losing my mother and Princess Diana was always one of my idols,” she told Scott during an interview last year.
“It just breaks my heart that they had to go through that and I know what happens with the media: it can be very difficult when they are constantly invading your lives,” the heiress added.

Hilton’s interview with W Magazine comes as she and Richie are reuniting for a reunion docuseries titled Paris & Nicole: The Encore.
The show will tackle some stories from their 2000 hit, The Simple Life, where girls were left in situations outside their comfort zone, such as with a family on a farm in Arkansas or at a Sonic restaurant to complete a shift.
The ladies will return to some of the same locations they filmed and worked in during the iconic show, along with some new elements.
It will premiere on Peacock, but its release date has not yet been announced.
