The parents of Terrance Howard, the former Alabama football player who died earlier this month, have accused doctors of trying to kill their son to harvest his organs.
Howard was 19 when he was hit by a car in North Carolina in July. He was treated at Atrium Health for brain damage and placed on a ventilator.
But Howard died on August 1 and now his family has made extraordinary accusations against the hospital, according to the The New York Post.
The former defender’s father, Bishop Anthony Allen, claimed the hospital “put something in Terrance’s IV to kill him.”
“He’s been fine, he’s stable, and when we were about to get him out of here and transfer him, they interfered,” she said in a video that has emerged on social media and which also appears to show other family members trying to perform CPR on him.

His father, Bishop Anthony Allen, said the hospital “put something in Terrance’s IV to kill him.”
“I’ll tell you what they’re doing. Right now his mother is treating him… they say they’re going to let him die. We asked them to come and do something about it. They decided not to.”
He added: “They decided to let him die because he was alive and they didn’t want him to be exposed.”
Meanwhile, Howard’s mother is reported to have said: “They want his organs… that’s what they told me at first.”
Atrium responded to the allegations by saying in a statement to NewsOne: ‘FFederal privacy laws are very strict and do not allow us to address specific questions.
“What we can tell you unequivocally is that our medical professionals are among the best in the country and take every reasonable measure to protect and preserve the life and health of those in our care at all times.”
The hospital added: ‘We extend our deepest condolences for every tragic situation faced by patients and their families as they struggle with their personal circumstances.
Howard transferred from Alabama, where he played as a non-scholarship player, to North Carolina Central.
‘We also aim to provide honest assessments of each patient’s health when communicating with family members and helping them understand and explore appropriate care options for their loved ones.’
Howard joined the Crimson Tide last season before opting to transfer to North Carolina Central University.
Former high school coach Rick LaFevers told KTRK Houston that Howard was driving to his new school’s campus in a rainstorm when he got into a car accident.
LaFevers says Howard got out of his car to check on the others involved when he was hit by a passing car.
