Chinese pandas have been photographed recreating the cutest Goldilocks scene ever as they snack on bamboo shoots around a small picnic table while reclining on wooden chairs.

Chinese pandas have been photographed recreating the cutest Goldilocks scene ever seen while eating bamboo shoots around a small picnic table.

Four adorable pandas, named Shuangshuang, Chongchong, Xixi and Qingqing, gathered around a wooden table, peeling and eating fresh bamboo shoots.

Some of the giant bears even sat on little chairs before happily plunging headfirst down a slide.

The gift to the bears at the Chongqing Zoo in southwest China was part of celebrations for the (human) Mid-Autumn Festival.

One of the pandas waddled toward a pile of bamboo shoots that were placed on a swing.

It then dropped to the ground to eat before another panda approached, initially sitting on the ground before climbing onto the swing.

The surprising behaviour captivated visitors as it mimicked the fairy tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The zoo, which has 23 pandas, is no stranger to strange behavior that fascinates visitors.

Last year, some animal fans became convinced that pandas were nothing more than humans in adorable outfits.

A video filmed at Chongqing Zoo showed three pandas gathered around a wooden table and chairs to eat food left for them.

As the trio sit, a fourth panda enters the fray, before each panda stands on its hind legs to eat food from the table.

After the video was posted on X, formerly Twitter, users were divided over whether the bears are real pandas or humans disguised as black and white bamboo lovers.

Some believed the animals were real, although many others were not so sure.

One said: “It’s really cool sitting down at the end of the video, he does exactly what bears do. It would be hard for a man to sit down like that.”

A second added: “I wouldn’t even be mad if it was someone in a suit. At least it’s another free bear.”

Another asked: “Are you sure that’s not someone in a panda suit?”

A fourth joked: “This video just reinforces my theory that pandas are actually humans dressed up as pandas. It’s not a real animal.”
