Pair charged with five-week-old’s death
A man and a woman have been charged in the death of a five-week-old baby boy.
Police allege paramedics were called to a caravan park on Old Chatswood Road, Daisy Hill at around 6:45pm on 14 June 2021, where the baby became unresponsive.
The baby was rushed to Logan Hospital, where he died at about 8:30 p.m.
After investigating, detectives arrested a man in Yatala at about 07:00 on Wednesday while in possession of a search warrant.
Detectives also arrested a woman in Zillmere around the same time. Both were known to the child.
A 44-year-old Stretton man and 36-year-old Zillmere woman have now been charged with murder.
They will appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Police are now calling on anyone with information about this baby’s death to come forward.
Police are expected to hold a press conference Thursday morning.
