Paige Spiranac is being linked to Happy Gilmore 2 following reports that Adam Sandler was prepping the sequel to his iconic 1996 film, which was released in late August.

Sandler appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on August 21 and talked about how he began the writing process for the long-awaited sequel to one of his classics.

With the cast already in place and Travis Kelce already promised a cameo in the film, fans are linking today’s biggest golf influencer to the project.

In March, Sandler’s co-star Christopher McDonald, who played villain Shooter McGavin in the film, joked that the comedian had begun writing the sequel in an appearance on 92.3 The Fan.

“I saw Adam about two weeks ago and he was like, ‘McDonald, you’re going to love this,'” McDonald said. “He showed me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2. He showed it to me and I was like, ‘Wow, that would be great.’ So it’s already in the works. Fans, demand it, dammit!”

Since McDonald’s comments, fans have taken to social media and unveiled their dream cast for the sequel. Satirical golf account Tour Golf shared an X-rated lineup, which included Spiranac as the “P.R. Lady” and Sydney Sweeney as the “Cart Girl.”

As the fantasy cast was viewed by over 13 million users, Spiranac shared a photo recreating one of the film’s iconic scenes and wrote: ‘I was born prepared.’

The original film tells the story of Happy Gilmore, a failed hockey player who became a golf sensation.

After discovering that his grandmother’s house was at risk of foreclosure, he joined the PGA Tour and racked up prize money ahead of his antagonist, McGavin.

The scene Spiranac reenacted was when Chubbs, Gilmore’s trainer, advised him to go to his “happy place.” When he mentally did so, he was greeted by the publicist, played by Julie Bowen, who was holding two pitchers of beer, wearing lingerie and lounging on a chaise longue.

Sandler has spoken openly about NFL star Travis Kelce making a cameo in the sequel.

Spiranac’s vision of the scene emerged from a 2022 Campaign while serving as an ambassador for the Swagg Golf accessories brand.

Fans were quick to rally behind Spiranac after the film was announced.

“This needs to happen,” one user wrote, while another added: “I’m in my happy place now.”

No planned release date has been announced for the film as it is still in its early stages.
